Knew Jersey fans would love him one of the best line drivers in the game. Larsson has been great for us to this is probably a great win win for both teams

I saw this thread on the main page and prayed to god it was because of positive play when I clicked it. So happy. Hope he continues to tear it up for you guys, he's only gonna get better and one thing Oiler fans were convinced of- he's BUILT for playoff hockey. Never got him there, hopefully you can.

Once hall gets going he can't be stopped. He's like a train. Maybe an off one of 2 games in next 20. But other than that buckle up and enjoy

I'm still not sure how he developed this negative reputation that he seems to have.

It seems to be the biggest false narrative among NHL players, behind only Phil Kessel and PK Subban.

So this Hall kid is pretty good, I hear. :D

This could very well go down as one of the best trades NJ has ever made in their history. And as much as I liked Lars, this team needed offense and man....they got it.

His puck tossing skills are still a little weak though, I'm guessing he was probably better bad at football and baseball!?:sarcasm:

Maybe he won't be taking too many DOG penalties at least?:sarcasm::sarcasm:

I hope he didn't bring up Edmonton again.

Some people act like he has some kind of ''I miss my ex girlfriend'' syndrome whenever he talks about Edmonton. Despite the fact that the people doing the interviews are the one's that keep constantly bringing Edmonton up.

You know they almost definitely bugged him about Edmonton.

It seems like they'd find the stupidest reason to bring it up.

''So Taylor, how does it feel not having to turn your heat up really high in October, like you do in Edmonton?''

^ Worst part is that if he snaps at the media over constantly asking him, you know they will twist that into "Oh he misses Edmonton. See how upset he is?".

That and they'd call him an un-classy guy for flipping out on the members of the media, only strengthening his cancerous image.

Apparently he was on NHL network today. Did anyone catch that by chance?
I've been hunting for video of it, but so far no luck. Maybe I'll find a link to it tomorrow. I love Hall interviews.

-Said he likes the area, is enjoying himself, and wound up being happy with the trade.
-Still respects Edmonton and always will, but he's all in with NJ now. Reiterated that he's having fun here after he said that.
-Hasn't played with Henrique as much as he thought he would. Said they had some great chemistry in the overtime period against the wild (hard to disagree with that one!).
-He likes the team a lot. "Lot of skilled players in the top 6 and top 9."
-Took him 3 days to get all the makeup from last Halloween off. :P. No spoilers as to who/what he'll be dressing up as this year.

Not sure about any external videos, but if anyone's interested in catching it, they're replaying the interview during tonight's version of On The Fly on NHL Network. It came right after the hawks/flames highlights on the first showing.

I just caught the interview about 15-20 minutes ago just by chance on NHLN. I never turned the channel after the game ended.

This was a good summarization.

He was also wearing a Devils polo, but pretty sure he had an Oilers one underneath it!:sarcasm:

And of course, they will ask him about Edmonton after the next Devils game....again.

I guess Hynes sees better chemistry with Zacha 5v5. But I think if the Devils get to OT, it's going to be HALL/RICO together going forward.

Yeah. Lot of skilled players that can't score.

Does is look like Zacha will be on the top line all year over Henrique and Zajac?

http://fireandice.northjersey.com/f...lopment-of-zacha-santini-and-speers-1.1682182

Through the Devils’ first five games, Zacha, with one assist, has shown himself to be a responsible two-way player. And now Hynes is giving him more offensive responsibilities, putting him on a line with Taylor Hall and, likely, Kyle Palmieri. Plus, there likely will be time on the power play, though that might take away from the minutes Hynes would use Zacha on the penalty kill.

“I think with Pavel right now, he’s a very good player and you can see he can play at this level. Then it’s just trying to make sure our expectations don’t get too out of whack for him. We probably gave him a little bit too much to start the year so we reined that back. It was better for him, you can see him with a few less minutes that he’s a much more effective player, especially as a 19-year-old and he had a fantastic game the other night playing with Taylor and we’ll look to keep him like that for tomorrow. Part of bringing him along is going to be allowing him, let’s not get too excited when he has a good game and put too much on him. He’s a young player, young prospect looking to develop in the NHL and I think if we manage him the right way and put him in situations to succeed, keep his confidence and energy levels up then that hopefully will give him the best chance to be a pretty consistent impact player.

“We think he can play both (on the power play and the penalty kill),” Hynes added. “He’s a very good penalty killer and the games where we didn’t have him on the power play and had him on the penalty kill he was very good. So we know he can play there. That’s part of managing him is sometimes depending on your lineup, OK, let’s give him some looks on the power play but if he’s on the power play maybe he’s not killing penalties. We’d like to have him on a special team and some of that might depend on what our lineup is and injuries and things like that. Try to keep his five on five good and then one of the two special teams and let’s try to build him to a guy that eventually, like guys like Travis and Henrique and Hall, they’re built up enough that they can play five on five minutes and power play and special teams but Pavel is not ready for that.”

Tomorrow for sure, it looks like. But it'll depend on his comfort level, I think. They don't want to ask too much of him too soon. Hynes obviously thinks really highly of him.

Playing on a loser for his entire 6 year career did wonders to kill his reputation much like Kessel despite the fact that they were the least to blame for team failure. The change of scenery was the best thing to happen to both players.

I've always thought that Hall would step his game up a few levels in big games so hopefully he gets that chance sooner than later. If anybody deserves it, it's him because of his work ethic and all the garbage he has had to endure in his pro career.

Yeah I figured when a team struggles, they'd get the blame. Usually a goalie would, but both organizations had quite the revolving door of goalies in the 6 years that each of them spent in their prior cities.

It's easy to see even when he isn't on the board, that he's the most skilled guy on the ice. Especially against a team like the Wild, who don't have a player quite as skilled as him, despite them having a more skilled forward corps overall.
