Wasn’t the best game, but the good finishing/bad goaltending had a huge influence on the score effects.

We’d be in the playoffs with anything close to this level of goalie performance on a regular basis.

Definitely seems like, since Green took over, when we get a lead, we play a very conservative game.

Thought we did that vs Blues to perfection.

Worked again tonight though it required some very good goal tending.

Let’s be real here…devils only got the lead in the second because Dallas D and goaltending was dumpster fire. And they still probably would have blown it if Jakey boy didn’t go into beast mode in the third.

Even when the devils stop pressing to focus on defending a lead they still suck on defense…they repeatedly couldn’t get it passed the red line and were giving up glorious chances all over the place.

The game wouldn’t look as lopsided as well if it wasn’t for the insane officiating

Dallas was their best on the PP and the refs gifted them many while choking on the whistle in the infractions I saw that Dallas committed

Thats what happens with NHL Goaltending sometimes. Even if the Devils only scored 2/3, they would have gotten points because Allen was on it

Not really. We had a really nice 2nd period. No PPs all game. That doesn't help shot count.

3rd period was a calculated defensive shell period. By design. Finally some coaching for the win/pts.

Allen was amazing from 2nd period onward, but that doesn't mean the forward core didn't play well in the 2nd and 3rd.
