So if the season were ended now with no playoffs and if the draft order was based on points per game %, we would (apparently) draft 20th. Who is available at 20?

Guessing the draft is going to be done online/through phone at this rate. Sucks for the guys getting drafted this year, to miss out on that once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Things that only I think about...

Bakersfield is going to be hurting next year for bodies and talent. What's the chances a guy like Dylan Holloway goes back to a ransacked Wisconsin program? With the exodus of Turcotte and Miller, with possibly Caufield following suit, is it conceivable that Holloway gets drafted and goes to the AHL?

---

I'm kinda thinking about starting the Mock Draft early...

I'd be very happy if one of Quinn, Mysak, Gunler, Mercer, Zary, or Jarvis fell to us.

Edit: Perrault, Foerster, Amirov, and others are also potential picks. So many forwards in our range.

His list of top-15 best shooters (bolded are guys in around our range that could potentially be good picks).

15. Marco Rossi
14. Yegor Sokolov
13. Anton Lundell
12. Tyson Foerster
11. Lukas Reichel
10. Thomas Bordeleau
9. Seth Jarvis
8. Noel Gunler
7. Quinton Byfield
6. Cole Perfetti
5. Jeremie Poirier
4. Jacob Perrault
3. Alexis Lafreniere
2. Alexander Holtz
1. Jack Quinn (nice to see my guy getting some love :))

He mentions that Tyson Foerster, Jacob Perrault, Jack Quinn, and Alexander Holtz are the best snipers on the PP. All are right-shots that play the left-half wall, and apart from Alexander Holtz, are all in our range.

@McDNicks17 what didn't you like about Jacob Perrault again? How would you compare Quinn, Foerster, and Perrault, and do you think they would be good picks where we're drafting?

Oh, and also, what are your thoughts on Quinton Byfield? Whenever I watch him — a few OHL games, CHL Top Prospect Game, and a bunch of international games — and he never seems to drive the play. Have I just caught all of his bad games?

I don't think Perrault's game is going to translate that well. He doesn't have the best hockey sense and hasn't really figured out how to use his speed at 5 on 5. He's kind of the poor man's version of Quinn and Foerster to me. He's got the skating and shot to do what Quinn does, but he can't do it consistently and he's got that pure sniper shot like Foerster, but he doesn't get open as much and doesn't have the shot selection Foerster has.

I wouldn't be against taking Perrault, but I'd probably be looking at the other skill forwards in that range first.

And yeah, Byfield's game is kind of quiet for someone that highly touted. He kind of just goes about his business for most of the game and then he'll have a shift where he holds the puck for a minute in the offensive zone and dunks on someone. I think a lot of his value just comes from projecting him at the next level. That size, skill and skating package is so rare. He'll need to kick his motor up a gear and get more consistent to really live up to that draft position.

Any idea why Perrault is consistently ranked ahead of Foerster? I'd say he's ~20 spots higher on average. Is is just the difference in skating?

Yes, that's the sense I get from Byfield. Stutzle and Rossi are right up there with him for 2nd overall for me.

Yeah, I'd say it's probably skating. I think this is a case where skating gets way overrated too because he doesn't really use it.

Perrault is also a bit more of a name brand after putting up 30 goals last year as well.

Push the Gunler attitude narrative out there, he will be ours.

I hear he insists to be referred to him as "The Gun Show", he makes a point of adding his coaches daughters on Snapchat, and that he regularly practices social distancing from teammates.
