Tull at the Stones Circus, who is the stand in guitar player?
Attended Tull shows twice, recollect one
That is correct, he joined briefly after Mick Abrahams left after the first Tull album. Here is the only Jethro Tull song recorded not sung by Ian Anderson done by Mick.iommi with Tull there?

I did that recently!! I know you'll roast me for this, but I kept Some Girls. I fully expected to pitch it based on memory alone. However, I did the old school sit down and listened to it while pouring over the album cover (God I miss those days) and decided it was better that I remembered.I’m on a mission to listen to all the albums I own that I haven’t had time to explore. Anything that doesn’t meet my exceedingly high standards is being sold. That includes post-Goats Head Soup Rolling Stones.

Might not last a second cut, but survived the first round mainly for three songs.
Just My Imagination
Far Away Eyes
Respectable
In fairness, when I really listened to Miss You (and ignored the massive overplay on radio and listen to all the components) it's a great song.
It's Only Rock 'N Roll didn't make the cut for me either -- despite the fact that I love Short and Curlies. Awesome song.
Same for Black and Blue although I have a strange soft spot for Melody.
Emotional Rescue is true crap although I love Indian Girl
Anything after that I don't know. It's generally so unlistenable I wouldn't have a clue if there are any hidden gems.
Lyrics were brilliant as well......One of my favorites.
The Stones started out as and will always be a Blues band to me
"The blue light was my blues, and the red light was my mind'

im in total agreement except for dancing with mr d. there are live versions from that time period that really shows that song off. but otherwise i'm on board.Everything for Beggars Banquet through to Some girls are keepers for me. Exile was the absolute pinnacle but even the poorer efforts had some gems - Black & Blue (Melody - it was her second name, Hand of Fate, Memory Motel), Only Rock and Roll ( Fingerprint File, Time Waits for No One, Short and Curlies), Some Girls ( Whip Comes Down, Far Away Eyes, Some Girls, Respectable) and don't mind even the later Tattoo You (Slave, Little T&A, Black Limousine).
Emotional Rescue was a complete waste of my hard earned 1980 wages and haven't even listened to it since. The diamond in the rough during the period was Goats Head Soup, once you get past Dancing with Mr. D there are a ton of great tunes with Mick Taylors guitar on Winter has always been a wow for me.
One of the worst 2 weeks of my life. A Broken heart and covid
