anything by the Cars works for me
Outside of a couple years in Quicksilver and Jeff Beck, Nicky Hopkins was never in a band. Too busy playing keyboards for all of them. Power play specialist session man.
Power play specialist, love it. Not big on lists but Exile on Main St has been a go to of mine for, well, ever and Loving Cup has always picked me up - great tune.
Boy, Nicky Hopkins was certainly the (monkey) man!
Pretty sure you have posted this before but this tune is Mr. Hopkins at some of his finest.
Also played at Woodstock with the Jefferson Airplane. This video essentially is focused on Jorma Kaukonen but Nicky gets in the frame a few times as the cameraman needs to show Grace Slick standing around and doing nothing more than leaning against the piano.
It's crazy how interconnected the UK music scene was in the early 60's after evolving from the 1950's skiffle craze. Davies, Korner and Mayall were the leading members of the bands that spawned/spun out so many great musicians. We both know, but for the uninitiated Edward was the nickname that Brian Jones gave Nicky during their studio jams during Let It Bleed which ended up with this album.

The R&B scene in London was said to begin here, which was Nicky Hopkins first recording in 1963.

I can't listen to Tom Petty because it gives me Vietnam-like flashbacks to that football game that he played at halftime of.
My favorite band.anything by the Cars works for me
My favorite band.
Happy 72d birthday to Mark Knopfler
saw Dire Straits live only one time, terrific showI saw Dire Straits back in the day, and Knopfler a few times since. The crowd always roars when he breaks out that resonator guitar, because they know Romeo and Juliet is coming next. My favorite love song of all time.
