Made Inari sushi for the first time. One of my 2 favorite snack dishes from my time in Japan (the other is onigiri).
Rice wrapped in sweetened bean curd (tofu) wrapper.....heaven!
Still have to perfect the filling process but damn it's good.

Eating onigiri in Japan after eating onigiri in Thailand was predictably different :laugh: I never did end up eating any sushi from a restaurant while I was there. I didn't plan much of an itinerary at all, because I just wanted to wander around, but it wasn't super obvious where to find the sushi places that you could take it out from (I generally don't like sitting in restaurants). I had onigiri from a convenience store, and it was great, and I got a piece or two of sushi, and it was also great, but I just had so many things that I wanted to try.

That one place I went to that had a kind of take-out buffet ... that was the one that just killed me. So ****ing delicious. The two things on the right-hand side of the four-section white box were the killers - they were (possibly) like kind of mashed potatoes on top of chicken or pork with a kind of glaze over it all. One of the best things I have ever tasted. That drink was basically poisonous ****ing club soda and I ended up dumping it out.

The ones on the left are called gyoza - they are deep-fried wonton skins with stuff inside. These were pork, I'm sure, and probably cabbage. There was a Japanese restaurant in Bangkok where I got some great ones, actually, and these were just as good of course.

Gyoza is my third favorite. One of the ramen shops we frequented near Yokota air base had cheese gyoza...oh my was that good! A good real ramen shop is something desperately miss.

Sweet potato pie = pie.
Hot dog = hot dog.
lion = cat
tomato = veggie
Red sauce <> gravy

There are just somethings you need to get used to, and accept.

I don't argue that a hot dog is a hot dog, but that falls under the classification of "sandwich".

End of story.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Lol.

Hot dog is it's own category. When you go to games, you see the guys carrying around ice cream and yells out"ice cream". But he's got like, rocket pops, chocolate tacos, everything else in there.

You don't see the hot dog guy yelling out "sandwiches! Hot sandwiches here!"

QED.

Everyone knows what a choco taco is, too, but he doesnt just yell out choco taco. You know why? Because Chaco tacos are a type of Ice Cream, and theres a lot of different types of ice cream.

Know why he just yells "Hot dog"? Because hot dog is the only thing in the hot dog food group.

when you no longer have a logical rebuttal, you're admitting defeat.

It was a valiant effort my friend. I accept your concession (pun intended) that hot dogs are in fact, not sandwiches.
Busy but just checking in quickly when I get a second. Don’t worry, you’re gonna get it when I’m done.

Today I had a five guys burger for lunch. First time I ever had it with a lettuce wrap instead of bun. Did not know you could do this at various restaurants like Red Robin too.
