This is huge........he inherited the group that were assembled by MT and as we know, that was not a pretty crew.

CJ in my mind, still does some mind boggling stuff...when we win everyone is fist bumping, but when we lose, it seems Clod is gonna Clod.

Yeah,
I'm not buying into the fantastic. Granted he sorely lacks hockey players but he's basically coaching the same way he did when he first came back.
It became evident by early December we didn't have the horses to play the manic game most of us enjoyed. Looking forward to plenty more 2-1 games.
The staff are pulling what they can out of this group. I wonder if we can improve on his 1.8 GF average we showed two years ago. Not liking our chances post season when most teams have decent goaltending.

If Price continues the way he's playing now, he will become next to unbeatable.

Julien is doing a decent job. In the end, he's similar to MT but easier to like for some reason.

He's more eloquant and thinks the game better , CJ is also more conservative with his lineup. No doubt CJ is a better coach than Michel but that's not saying much and there is a reason MT isn't back in the NHL. CJ has issues as well , he isn't a great guy for offensive production (his teams are competitive but defensive minded) and he can't adapt very well to changing circumstances. He is however a good coach that understands the fundementals of the current NHL game. However, he isn't part of the wave of modern coaches basing themselves on new age techniques. We will see how it developps and I don't mind him influencing our up and coming prospects. Nothing wrong with playing a 200 foot game just wish we had more offense driven by our top skill players.

Julien is nothing like Therrien at all and kudos to him for reinventing himself to be open to change. His guys have bought in to what he's selling and we're rolling.

Well said. Julien has grown as a coach and has not let his cup ring stop him from changing. His staff picks are perfect for him to make that change, and his abilities as a player's coach is underrated. Lots of intelligence in his messaging, unlike MT haha.

The only weakness this team had is a weak 2C player. Well, weak 1C, one could say. Brook and Romanov have to develop quickly to join Subban/Markov because these two were both top 15 D's and Petry/Weber ain't close to that.

Dude, you shouldve said roster. Because the team itself had another huge weakness: the grindosaur.

Julien is a much better coach ainec

Yep. I actually have no complaints about Julien so far. He was the coach I wanted to replace Therrien. I was always so salty that Bruins teams were able to execute basic plays while our team was not. It just seemed so amazing to me to see their players skating and stretching out opposing defences and not just standing like a bunch of Pejorative Slurs at the blueline waiting for a pass.

Imagine if Julien had the team Therrien had.

That doesn't make him an adequate coach. Guy is slower than a turtle and cant make an in-game adjustment to save his life. I think theyre both similar anyway. Both are archaic and outdated.

Who would do better with the supposed pile of trash roster this team has? He's a jack adams candidate for f***'s sake

It's amazing that CJ has been here for 2 and half years now, and some posters here haven't figured out that he rolls 4 lines...

Like Hudon, Chaput, Deslauries, Peca? Booming with minutes!

Let's be real. Whether they play 10 or 11 minutes why bother? They'll play PP and top minutes in AHL.

What line you play doesn't effect your special teams minutes.

So PP specialists? Nice.

Not to mention they aren't only ones asking for PP time. Drouin, Danault. Domi, Gallagher, Tatar, Shaw, Armia, Byron, etc... are on that rotation.

Or they can play full minutes in AHL. Why force the issue? Let them play where they should.
