Cryptocurrency "investing" is pure speculation IMO. I view it as similar to playing the lottery. Yesterday I bought some Dogecoin "lottery tickets." Last night Elon tweeted some Doge nonsense and now I'm up 45% overnight. Crazy.

Yeah it's crazy. I just checked on TDAmeritrade and you can't even buy it there.

Robinhood allows you to buy the cryptos shown below. You have an equity position, but don't actually own the coin and can't use them for purchases or trading. I opened a Robinhood acct just to see what all of the hoopla was about and as a mad money acct.

Not going to support Robinhood. Need to eventually find someone other than TDAmeritrade. Someone not corrupt although that might be impossible.

I have an Ally and Schwab account, although I didn't sign up for either one. Tradeking was bought by Ally, and USAA sold their brokerage business to Schwab. Schwab is OK, but I would not recommend Ally.

Just a rumor for now...

Is the pandemic on its' last legs? Natural and vaccine driven immunity is increasing daily. I say happy days are (almost) here again.

Blues vs Coyotes for 6 straight games!

1-1 so far.

What do you predict the outcome to be over the 6 game series?

I vote 4-2. Blues of course :)

Herd immunity works and is really the only way out.

Right. I think we are closer than some think. The CDC now assesses that 25% of Americans have contracted the virus, and almost 10% have received at least one dose of vaccine. However, herd immunity threshold estimates are all over the place, ranging from 6-80%! This is why "trust the science" is such a stupid phrase.

Cases, Data, and Surveillance
COVID-19 herd immunity threshold far higher than previously thought, say researchers

Trust anything Covid is stupid. We are addicted to fear, and the media gave that to us in spades. The so called facts were never facts, just bullshit to scare the public.

To paraphrase Maggie Thatcher "Sooner or later you're going to run out of other people's grandmas. " Waiting for natural herd immunity is inhuman. Not just inhumane, but a crime against humanity.

Trust in one's gut instincts is never a wise policy in the face of a public health crisis. Tune out the news stations and look at the raw data published by The Johns Hopkins University school of public health. Countries around the world rely on the Hopkins data. I really don't think that the problem is the data. The problem lies in those who corrupt numbers and present them as data. The problem lies in the health policies which are not data driven. The problem lies in the political priorities which drive policies. There is always a balance between political goals which can conflict with each other. Do we emphasize keeping people in jobs and minimizing food insecurity? Do we emphasize minimizing morbidity and mortality? Tough choices.

Trust in your own gut instincts is always best for each individual, because true gut instincts are never wrong. That is a socialism quote, "sooner or later you run out of OPM (other peoples money)", this is why socialism won't work. Herd immunity would have worked much sooner but they delayed it with draconian restrictions for younger healthy people. The number are dropping now because of it, not because of a vaccine, masks or draconian restrictions. Virus's run their course, no matter what we do.
