Junior guys Jaydon Dureau, Jack Thompson, and invite Wyatt McLeod still here
For Thompson, the OHL starts its regular season on the 7th.

MacLeod is headed for USports. Alberta has started its non-conference schedule, but will start in-conference on the 15th.

Dureau however, is unsigned and 20. He's also got good enough numbers to suggest he goes to Syracuse.

One of the bigger disappointments among the coaching staff was the lack of urgency from a number of prospects on the cusp of potentially making the NHL roster and vying for a starting role on the Lightning.
"Especially the fact that they've done things within their game to get to this point where they're knocking on that door," Lalonde said. "We have expectations for them, and right now, they're not meeting, which is part of youth. We went through it with a lot of players that are now with us today. And so even our meetings, yes, we'll grab those individuals and we'll have teaching clips. A lot of those teaching clips will be structure, positioning, but it's also compete, 50/50s, engaging in battles. One of the first stats as a staff we look at right after a game in this day and age of numbers and analytics, there's so much there for you, is 50/50s, how many you win, but for us it's how you get engaged into which is a big number too. We want to start holding guys accountable on those numbers."
"It's part of earning. We want anyone and everyone to earn it," Lalonde said. "It's part of a process. It's part of a winning organization that you have to earn it, and we don't want anything given. We're in the midst right now of hopefully one or two of those guys grabbing it and earning it."

Surprised Sommpi was sent down already. Figured he was first up for a callup for a bottom 6 C spot. I like Smith but he's not as defensively sound which Sommpi is, which would make him the the safer pick.

Being waived today doesn't mean he's re-assigned yet.

The Orlando fan base would appreciate seeing him on Tuesday.

Caught the first game on YouTube not impressed with the kids at all. @nd game they did not hit the scoresheet hoping that game will be on YouTube tonight. If these kids can not perform against the Predators preseason line-up there are issues. And we are going to have at least two of them on the roster. It is great to be optimistic but none of these kids look to be able to pot more than 10 in a 82 game season. I guess Stammer Kuch and Point will all have 40 and north of 115 points each to cover the scoring we have lost.

More like one of them. As usual you have nothing positive to say about Tampa. They played a bad game, omg the sky is falling. ABB, Raddysh, Katchouk, Ryfors and Fortier have all shown some promise. Tampa will likely need one of them to be a 3rd or 4th line contributor, and another as a 13th F. They won't be needed for great scoring, as Tampa has plenty of that already. The only loss that hurts offensively is really Gourde, but scoring goals won't be Tampa's problem. These players will be a larger and larger part of Tampa's future as the team likely loses one of Palat or Killorn after this year as well. There will be growing pains, but it's still the best path to keeping the team strong rather than keeping guys too long and for far too much money.

Hudon, Dumont, Day, and Darren Raddysh are on waivers now. Once they've cleared, they'll likely be sent down too.

I can already feel my frustration with the Solar Bears this season building.
