To be fair, those were out only 2 picks in the first 4 rounds. And really, by the time you hit the 4th round, probably even the 3rd, draft position doesn't really mean much.

But speaking of that draft, that Adam Fox pick for the Flames...real shame. :cool:

Yes, it sucks to miss out on those picks, but you must admit that's a small price to pay for hitting a total home run like the McCann, 2016 2nd, 2016 4th <-> Erik Gudbranson, 2016 5th trade.

I don't know if it's a fluke or not, but the Canucks have been unearthing some interesting players in the later rounds of recent drafts, particularly the 7th round. They already plucked McDonough and Persson out of the seventh round, and joined by Lucas Forsell this summer. Along with Conor Lockhart in the sixth round this year; and Zlodeyev in the fifth round a year ago.

Will be interesting players to follow. But seems obvious that at the very least, most of them will dramatically outperform their status as very late draft picks. That's about you can ask for when you're taking a flyer on players that late in the draft.
