Since I watched the awful fight that landed Svechnikov I have been waiting patiently for him to return to game action. I am actually glad that the team and doctors are taking to slow with him because concussions are nothing to play with and especially he is so young. I think being careful is a smart play here.

I agree. Not only is it the safe and responsible thing to do in terms of his future (as a player and person), but also we're in a situation where we can survive without him for another game or two. Give him time, let him really recover. If we need him for a Game 5/6/7 stretch, then sure. At that point he's that much more ready and can really give us a boost.

The best thing is for safest first and for the players future for sure. I do hope he and the other injured Cane players can get back at some point so the team can be at full strength though. But safety first.

Question for those who know more about concussions and the body.

As Svech has been sitting out could this end up being a net positive in that while he’s been recovering from his concussion the rest of his body is also recovering from his first 82-game season? Or when recovering from a concussion does the body tend to focus resources on that and hamper recovery elsewhere?

I’m asking with a touch of hope that he may actually come back as even more of a force than before.

I think that’s why Jordan has been so good since his return. Before the concussion he wasn’t producing as much, my theory is that he was nursing something and with the mandatory time off due to the concussion he was able to come back 100%
