Jeremie Poirier just had a whale of a playoffs. The sea dogs had their season ended the other day, but what he did in the play-in style playoffs was amazing.

In 6 games he collected 9 points (one back of the team lead), had one of the teams better goal differentials, and collected two stars of the game honours. He currently sits 5th in points in the playoffs, although only 7 teams played 6 games.

I’m excited to see how he continues to improve in the Q again next season, all accounts are his defending improved a lot so far.

Ruzicka, Phillips, Gawdin are all at the stage where they deserve some extended looks in camp to win a spot with the big team. Ruzicka is probably closest to NHL ready but it wouldn't be shocking if all 3 started in the AHL.

Connor Mackey will likely get regular gametime with the Flames this season. Management has been falling over themselves with praise for him.

Zagidulin is probably headed back to Russia after this year

I wouldn't look too far into it.
Like, San Jose gets a handful of games against Texas, Bakersfield looks like they have pretty much the same games as Stockton.

The AHL is likely looking at everything as a cost centre this year.
I'd also not be overly surprised to see the Canadian teams move their teams up North after the trial there last year due to the Pandemic. Like within the next 3-4 years.

Gotta wonder what's going on around if they see Francis/Kerins as centres long-term, or if it's out of the necessity that Nikolayev is the next best centre there. Mackey had a good chance until they signed Gudbranson

The othe guys may compete for one spot. Ruzicka probably has the best bet but he needs to step up.
