TSN Scout Grant McCagg:
Followed up an impressive 51-point rookie QMJHL season with a underwhelming 56-point season on one of the most most talented QMJHL teams in memory. More was expected from the 6-2 Slovakian winger, who saw his ranking slip considerably before his redemptory Memorial Cup performance. Strengths - Has top ten skills with elite puckhandling abilities and excellent skating agility, has all the physical attributes to be a star. Weaknesses - very inconsistent, is a star one night and accomplishes little the next. Not overly gritty, tends to stay to the outside of the play. NHL Upside - Risky pick in the first round who may be a top-two winger (think a more skilled Michael Frolik), or could struggle for ice time due to inconsistencies.
Daniel Catenacci 3rd round 77th overall is the steal of the draft right now in my oppinion.
Zibanejad.
Someone else mentioned Larsson who was picked earlier so.Not exactly the definition of a steal. I can't see how he could've gone earlier than 6th overall.
St. Croix. Still don't know why this guy has fallen so much.
