Totally agree Peca for DeMeo
Hugg for one of Trott/Jacklin and 2 3rds ?
Lipanov, an NHL 3rd rounder, cost Kitchener two 3rds early in the season. Could that be the standard this year for a comparable import?
It's no secret that moving veteran import players isn't easy the closer you get to the deadline. If the Rangers go into a full sell, perhaps the Soo, with an open import spot, would be interested in Hugg, who is better than Lipanov.
Add another 99 forward like Yantsis (40 goal pace) who'll more than likely play an OA season and you've improved your depth up front adding a ton of offence.
You start your rebuild next year selling off Hayton, Yantsis, etc. As long as your 2019 draft is looked after, (you don't have a 2nd in 19), replacing the rest of your draft cupboard can happen with next year's sell off. It all doesn't have to happen at once.
To Soo:
Hugg
Yantsis
3rd in 19 (Bar)
To Kitchener:
Carroll
Trott
2nd in 21 (Wsr)
2nd in 23
3rd in 22
3rd in 23 (Er)
*2nd in 24
*4th in 20 (Lon)
The trade breaks down as two 3rds and Trott for Hugg.
Carroll and a 2nd in 21 for Yantsis. The conditional picks are if Yantsis plays an OA season. That's a good price for an OA who scores at that rate.
We send you the 3rd in 19 (Bar) for the 2nd in 23. That pick will be very early in the 3rd round. Not so far away from where you'd be picking if you still had your own 2nd. That helps with your rebuild since you don't have a 2nd in 19.
