I mean, Seguin would be exactly what the Wild need, but I don't get why he would leave DAL, nor would it be easy to make a trade between teams in the same division. Also, as good as Seguin is, there is a limit as to what I would want to pay him.

If he is actually available CBJ should be all in on him...agree with earlier poster, I'd go panarin+ but I'd add wennberg (a 2c backfill) for Seguin with some sort of add... (thinking 2nd and B prospect, but that's negligible)

No he isn't better then Scheifele.
Yes , yes he is. The only year Scheifele was better was the season before last where Seguin had a down year. Once Scheifele can score more than 30 goals once let me know.

I don't understand any mention of Panarin. Seguin won't be traded before the season. So why would we trade expiring Seguin contract for an expiring Panarin? It makes zero sense.

Not sure what to think of Wennberg. 35 points in 66 games for 5 mil.

Well despite being HFB's darling for God knows how long Jim Nill isn't very good at his job, just like the cronies he put in place there. Just take a gander at their draft record.

Players acquired under Jim NIll for scraps!
Seguin
Peverley
Janmark
Spezza
Bishop
Radulov
Johns
Oduaya

Seems pretty good to me.

A real impressive list, I hope he stays with the Stars for a long time and continues the briliant work he is doing. And I like how one of the best wingers in the game at the time of the Seguin trade is a scrap using some impressive mental gymnastics.

Hes a good gm with trades and cap imo. His drafting hasn't been great, although I do like his last two drafts

It was scraps in terms of the return smart guy, but please continue.

Or points? Or production year after year? All which Seguin has done better.

Oh okay bud...

Scheifele last 3 years (203 Points in 210 Games = 0.97PPG)

Seguin last 3 years (223 Points in 236 Games = 0.94PPG)

[mod] Points are not everything, and even so he's right there with Seguin.

Less than HF Boards thinks, unless Dallas is trading with Ottawa or Edmonton.

Let's add a year
Scheifele last 4 years (252 points in 292 games =0.86ppg)

Seguin last 4 years (300 points in 305 games = 0.98ppg)
;)

And Scheifele was a late blooming raw talent while Seguin was a second overall pick, four years ago is irrelevant. If anything, it just shows Scheifele is showing more year over year growth in his game.

You acting like scheifele was a 2nd or 3rd rounder. He was drafted 1st round 7th pick

I see you take a 3 year sample to fit your narrative. Like GeauxPred1 stated:

We can go around and around as long as you want. All the seats at the kids table were taken up by misinformed Scheifele loyalists, sorry!
