I agree, this seems like an incredible overreaction. How was that first example even late? Yikes. On the bright side I'm certain that at no point in the near future will the NHL do anything like thatIIHF should simply outlaw body checking if this is the new rule
Samuelsson plays for USA, not Sweden?
He was born in Philly and lived his life in the US.
If this is an IIHF rule then it would be applicable for the World Championships and Olympics as well?
Lets hope for a strong showing by all of the Sabres attendees. And hope that people can temper their expectations a bit when someone does have a strong showing.
How in the hell is a guy supposed to quit on a check a half second after a player passes the puck? This has to be one of the dumbest rules I've ever seen. Half of them will be called, half won't and thos is going to effect the outcome of games based on how the referee feels that day.
As someone who hasn’t followed prospects much this year with the Sabres not being towards the bottom of the league. Who are the favorites this year and expected to medal?
So I'm ahead of schedule?Number one prospect replacement for Mitts incoming.
More 2019: Broberg, Heinola, Honka, Nussbaumer, Podkolzin, Sogaard .. 2020: Lafreniere, Lundell .. then there's probably a handful of older guys like Eggenberger or Leason that are second- or third-year eligible.Good thread for this too:
Who are the 2019 eligible In this?

Lundell's just as young, maybe a week older, and regularly centers a line in Liiga. Hughes, Kakko, and Podkolzin are out of their likely draft range. Broberg shot up most lists too unfortunately and I don't really want to encourage the idea of first-round goalies. Heck, a goalie in the first three rounds is usually too early for me with all the development time they need.LaFever from just a hockey watching point of view is very interesting to see how he does at such a young age.
I hear a ton about Podkolzin, super interested just to see him for the first time.
