Do not like this move. He's UFA in one year and a marginal player to begin with. Also do not like the continuing theme of Botterill trading away our mid to late round lottery tickets. It stinks of hubris

If we still had Murray, this would make more sense. Not sure why Vesey is even on Botteril's radar.

That being said, I'm trying not to overthink it. He's just another depth option on a team with depth issues. Eventually one of these cheap middle 6 pickups have to stick right? Maybe Vesey ends up looking like another ERod?

Why?

He isn’t that exciting of an addition. If not for the free agent college thing, this trade would’ve made zero waves.
He’s a player we traded for. I don’t think it goes much beyond that nor is it very remarkable they’re doing this.

This feels like an ego trip that shouldn't have crossed GMs.
May be excited about a nice contract next summer if he shows enough enthusiasm. We're so easily manipulated sometimes

meh, see what happens with him...if we are out of it as usual at the TDL maybe we can trade him and get something back

If Vesey has a career year and has 25+ goals by the trade deadline, what do you do?

Definiton of meh. Price isn't awful, the fact that he's likely gonna occupy a top 6 spot, however, is.

It's interesting to see how opinions of the Murray trade for Vesey have "subtly" morphed in the last 12 hours.
