It will be a tough one. Russia has to stay away from the penalty box and Askarov needs to be really sharp. Hopefully Larionov addressed the issues with the D making the same mistake every game. Other than that - lets go Russia!

I think Sweden is the favorite for this game. The tradition of winning in RR will push them to play better.

I think Russia has higher upside but I don't think we'll see it in full tonight.

Very interesting situation here. Russia wins in regulation and they're 1st, lose in regulation and they're 3rd or 4th and will get Canada or Finland in the QF. Rarely see a single game potentially the difference between 1st and 4th in your pool. Sweden has looked good, but they've got their toughest 2 games left. Russia has been very up and down. Sweden always has that round robin magic, so it's never going to shock me if they get their way through this group without losing again. I'll go 5-4 Sweden in OT

I too have been disappointed w. Larkionov’s tactics.

It’s early tho and there is lots of time to adjust.

Russia needs Podkolzin and Askarov to be the best players on the ice tonight.

There is so much in this matchup. Sweden has been unbeaten in a group play in so many tournaments, but this time Russia has talent to overcome. These two teams play in a similar fashion, but there are differences. What ever the result, this is something why this tournament is in place, despite the lopsided results previously.

Sweden's streak has gotten this far. Might as well continue it and get to the point where someone suits up for Sweden who wasn't born the last time they lost in the preliminary round. Should only take another 3-4 years.

Sweden takes it 4-2. Russia's been sloppy, they lack quality defence and the powerplay has been really bad. This year's squad hasn't been impressive so far.
