If I’m Holland, I am calling up Winnipeg for Pionk. He would be the perfect partner for Nurse. He has 2 years left at 5.875 aav so Ceci would need to go the other way along with some sweeteners

Sounds like there's more pieces involved on Winnipeg's side.

Might be something good we haven't heard about yet going with PLD.
There would have to be I'd think because on it's own, this seems like a sizeable overpay from the Kings. I probably like Vilardi more than most and PLD less than most though.

Also, the Kings are targeting the wrong sign and trade guy. Why not keep Vilardi and make a pitch for Helleybuck?

I'd do this

Hopefully these two dumb Philly moves are finished soon. I feel like this is holding up a lot of teams

I’d love him as an add but I don’t get the sense that Chevy is doing a complete tear down. I think he’s indicated it’s a reload after getting 3-4 players out of dodge. I doubt Pionk is available. Oh but wow if he could be.

He may be forced into a rebuild based on a few of their best players wanting out. Also, a player such as Pionk who is right in his prime may want out if guys like Hellebuyck, PLD, Scheifele, etc are moved. One can dream!

Surprise no talk about bringing Pulju back. Man that guy was good. He made everyone he played with better

They just needed to give him some well earned PP time and the numbers would of reflected his play

Neither has Campbell. We signed Campbell to 5 years when he only had 135 games or so under his belt.

Hill has 101 games under his belt and a Stanley Cup.

Campbell somehow gets 3 extra years? For playing 30 some odd more games?
Adin Hill has a career high of 27 starts in a season. Campbell was given a similar contract term when he had a similar career path. When he signed in Edmonton he'd had a full season as a starter with a 50-plus start workload. He was one of the most attractive options on the market that year.

Backing up a Championship team doesn't suddenly vault you to starter status. Plenty of examples out there of goalies who faded into obscurity after those deep runs.

I'd be pitching Philadelphia to switch to Parayko in their proposed St. Louis deal. Offer up short-term NHL assets they can spin off at trade deadline with their choice of Yamamoto, Foegele, Ceci and 2023 2nd round pick. Explore Flyers retention of $500,000 - $1 million on Parayko while helping them to move $71,428,571 total dollars off their book.

St. Louis:
$7,142,857 Kevin Hayes (x 3)
$6,250,000 Travis Sanheim (x8)

Oilers:
$6,500,000 Parayko (x7). Ideally $500,000 - $1 million retained by Flyers.

Flyers:
$3,100,000 Yamamoto (x1)
$2,750,000 Foegele (x1) (OR $3,250,000 Ceci (x2)
+ 1st round pick St. Louis
+ 2nd round pick Oilers

We can't take on a salary that large, even when moving those guys out. Still have to sign Bouchard, McLeod, Brown and depth players.

It's a $650,000 net difference for this season with Foegele and Yamamoto out the door. That's without any retention. Yamamoto and Ceci option is $150,000 net difference with no retention (with next year's $3,250,000 final year of Ceci off the books).

1) Your proposition is a little bit outrageous given Holland is our GM,,,how many 3 ways has he done?
2) Colton has a retirement contract, is happy where he is and at least at this time has a full NTC.

I think you really need to play around with the capfriendly cap calculator. Bouchard and Mcleod are getting raises. Other positions to fill. AND - don't just make it a 20 man roster. We should aim for a 22 man roster this season to avoid a shortened bench and wearing our guys out.

I know you’re being sarcastic but it’s not unrealistic. Holland already offered him a contract extension. If Pulju is honest with himself, his best option for next year is to take Holland up on his offer

Just for fun, I moved out Foegele, Yamo and Ceci for Parayko and signed Bouch 1 year 3 mill (i dont know if it comes in that cheap) and McLeod 3 years 2 mill (the rumoured contract).

After doing that, we have 3,432,000 in cap space with 4-5 forward holes to fill.

It's why this year we have to go bargain hunting for players like Brown. High impact players are more likely at the trade deadline when a team is willing to retain, and we have the option to extend next year when the cap shoots up.
