So Strader hates the Sabres...no news there.
Good:
- I don't know...but I see a steadier Myers the last 6-8 games than at any point at all this year...more confidence...but still not near his max contribution level, or what have you
- I love Pysyk on the PP... nothing happened tonight, but you see that he has the intelligence, puck poise, and vision to be a mainstay. Improving
Bad:
- Ennis...tons of giveaways, and one nice backcheck doesn't erase a bad evening
- Stafford...invisible until OT
- PP at the end of the game: Stafford/Gerbe/Flynn....would certainly not be my choice if I were coaching...but I'm not.
- Luke Adam was invisible
- Steve Ott on the PK... he is frustratingly ALWAYS too low, puck gets kicked out to his point man, and 8/10 times it's getting through, even though he's attempting to give his body up and block the shot. Positional discipline is necessary... stop getting sucked in deep
- we lost EVERY puck battle
- Second (or third) to every loose puck
- Porter/Flynn with their first noticeably poor game as a duo
Ugly:
- overall amount of giveaways/turnovers, felt exponential and poorly timed
- too much flat footed nonchalance in all three zones
- FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CAN ANYONE ON A 2-ON-1 SHOW ANY SIGNS OF BEING A THREAT TO SCORE WHEN THEY'RE THE PRIMARY PUCK CARRIER? HOLY ****ING ****. Stop gliding in on the odd man rushes, always TELEGRAPHING the notion that your first (AND ONLY) option/preference is to pass. GET SELFISH and take a ****ing shot.
- Wingers (ADAM) .... STOP CHEATING OUT OF THE ZONE ON THE BREAKOUT... D looks to pass to you at the hashes, and you're behind the opposing dmen OUTSIDE OF THE LINE. I know they pinched up a lot, but you still need to get your ass low and be the support outlet you learn to be as a squirt
- nice save on the SHG, Ry...mad they get
- there were chunks of 40, 50, 60, 90 seconds where the puck never left our D zone, and we looked like we were down a man or two when even strength
- third period parade to the box

this was akin to the Islander game that we got manhandled and won... and that one didn't do anything for our morale, nor did it foreshadow any future success...so I don't buy that. This was lucky.
We got worked. I'm not happy at all about the performance, but you take the two points and GEETHAFUGAOUWT.
