Boyle messing with Karlsson in that playoffs was a classic example of a great kind of toughness.
This !...He is right ! Boyle did everything above and protected his mates 100 % of the time without even looking at who he had to face down and he was fearless in doing so and yes....fighting was not his forte....but he would try none the less . That was then this is now....his playing days are almost over ...we have to move on . I think BB would be a great hire for our AHL club as a starting point for a new career for him .it's just amusing how Boyle has a strong bottom 6 player for many years and one of the best PKers of this entire generation, using his absolutely massive body to his advantage on the boards and with his reach on the PK, and racking up tops-in-the-league hits pretty routinely, and the only thing you can come up with is he wasn't goonish. Which is funny because Boyle was never shy about shoving and post-whistle scrums and was very defensive of his teammates his whole career. He just couldn't fight. That's it. I guess most of the league is soft then.
Brought up by who?On the main boards they brought up JT Miller as a main piece for the canucks to land PLD. Good god wouldn't that be a dagger to the heart. The McDonagh trade looks like it's going to continue to haunt.
Canucks board most prestigious and accurate posters of course - E5.Brought up by who?
Also...why? They have Pettersson-Horvat.
Because he didn't know how to fight (well) for someone his size, and his hits weren't of the monster, bone-crunching variety. That's literally it.Boyle was a monster on the boards and routinely a hits leader in the NHL. Why does he have this weird reputation for being soft?
He did show he was capable of it at times, which was even more infuriating.Boyle messing with Karlsson in that playoffs was a classic example of a great kind of toughness.
Am I missing something with Boyle's play last year? 15 points in 39 games puts him on a ~31 point pace for the season which is highly respectable. That's with 12:23 of average ice time
This is so pointless. Miller, Robertson, Lundkvist, Jones, Schneider are all prospects. There's not way to predict how they develop. The Rangers actually were in somewhat similar position about a decade ago with a bunch of good defensemen prospects coming up. You should look back and take a lesson in how that turned out.

Yea that the offense was a fluke and his defensive numbers were awful at both 5v5 and the PK.

Idk how I feel about Boyle but you've come to that conclusion because you clearly watched him right? Loll..
Yeah, but, watch the games, nerd.Haven't missed a Ranger game since 2009 (only because it was an afternoon game and I thought it was a night game) and I watch multiple games throughout the league every night. How about you?
