Stone for Ottawa file(traded) ..Ceci filed(traded)...Colin Miller Vegas filed(traded) Jimmy Vessey filed(traded) Kevin Hayes filed(traded) Kulak filed(traded) and so on and so on...
You need to stop spamming this thread with your argument (that makes no sense) especially when you're cherrypicking cases but using them improperly.
Stone got traded because they knew they couldn't lock him up long-term, and he was a UFA this summer. Get value before he walks for nothing.
Colin Miller got traded because Vegas is up against the cap, and its easier to trade your #5/#6 defenseman with an acceptable contract for cap relief, than a top fledged player with heavy salary.
Jimmy Vesey got traded because he's a UFA next year, and the role he filled in New York (bottom 6 forward) has a lot of competition as it is (Kaako/Chytil/Andersson/Nieves/Buchnevich) and it gave them salary to pivot around on after adding Panarin (they still have to give contracts to Lemieux and Buchnevich)
Kevin Hayes similarly got traded because he was an upcoming UFA on a team that was rebuilding; you trade assets for value when you know you either don't want them back, or they don't want to be back.
Kulak was a player that Calgary had no room in their system for, with better NHL defenseman and better prospects behind him.
Ceci is the only player that has any value in your argument, and I think he's a player they've wanted to get rid of for a long time...
William Karlsson opted for arbitration, and he signed an extension this summer.
Matt Dumba opted for arbitration, and there's no way Minnesota moves him.
Skjei filed for arbitration, and there's no way NYR moves him.
In many cases, Arbitration is filed for less valuable players, because they want to make a fighting case for a longer term or higher value deal --- this season, Trouba and Binnington both filed for arbitration, and there's no way either of those guys are getting moved from their current teams
