you said Trevor doesn't speak french..lol click on the video ,54 seconds in

That video just reminded me just how useless McKenzie is:

"Leblanc has a lot of Crosby qualities. It's just about getting used to, blah, blah, blah..."

What a joke.

I'm not 100% sure that, if push comes to shove, the GM needs to speak much more than a rather rudimentary French at that. The coach, yes, but the GM? I think they could get away with him reading a phonetic statement and answering questions in English. They could have a President Hockey Operations the speaks French instead.

I think the coach can get away with that as well if it’s a great coach. Call it the Babcock rule where the French media makes exceptions for exceptional choices. Quenville may fall in that category as well.

But generally speaking, you need francophones to be able to clearly communicate with the media.

This is why we can never hire the best guy for the job...................the only team in the league, who has to deal with it....

I don't know what roles I'd have them occupy, but two guys I'd inquire about bringing in are Mark Hunter and Ron Francis.

Both have helped put together two young and skilled teams. With the Leafs enjoying the fruits of those labors quicker, Carolina is still a solid team full of young and promising players.

When Lou stepped down as GM of the Leafs, the debate was whether they'd give the job to Hunter or Dubas. We know who they chose. And some reports are coming out that Hunter isn't exactly happy he didn't get the job. Now, the goal for me would be to groom Bouchard as MB's successor. So I don't know if Hunter would be interested to go somewhere where he will lose out on the job to someone else again. However, he can still be brought in and be allowed to interview for any GM openings that will be eventually there. Mark Hunter, by the way, was Habs' 1st Round Pick (7th Overall) in 1981. He played with the Habs for the 4 first seasons of his NHL career. He's also touted as being real good at evaluating talent. So in my personal world, Hunter either replaces Eric Crawford as Director of Pro Scouting or Shane Churla as Director of Amateur Scouting.

And I can say the same for Francis. He was a GM. He may just be interested in a GM position or a spot where he can become a GM sooner than later. Nevertheless, I'd love it if they at least approach him.

Give Hunter Churla’s job.

Wouldn't you say that both Eric Crawford and Churla have to go? I wonder how they could lure Mark Hunter. If they did, it would be after the draft ...

Some we spoke to outside the organization on Friday think Hunter will stick it out through the NHL draft in Dallas in June.

There is a good working relationship between Dubas and Hunter, but some who know the latter well think that working for Dubas (as opposed to alongside him) would be a different and undesired path for Hunter.

Dubas wants Hunter to stay, but assistant GM’s future with Leafs cloudy

When do we know? Also, nice to see you post more, hope you are feeling better!

Thank you, Sir. Great to be back, even though I'm not 100% but way better than last week. Always fun to be here and get to exchange with the most rabid of Hab fans.

From earlier tweets, we should know what Bouchard is up to this coming Tuesday -- sounds like fake drama with all of the advance billing he's been getting but we still want an official announcement. Even it's more likely than not that he joins the Habs, the level of his involvement, the magnitude of the responsibilities he may assume, could help us appreciate just how much this organization is willing to go in a different direction.

the 1st one is from the broadcast of the Rockets on the radio: from what he hear in the last weeks in Boisbriand and Laval , Bouchard will join the Montreal Canadiens and he did his prediction after

the 2nd one: is from Mikael Lalancette, that on the beat of the Q for TVA Sport, it’s finish for Bouchard with the Armada

I am very happy to hear that while Bouchard comes in, Carrière is well on his way out.

This would almost complete my wish list of who they get rid of and who they bring in. After Carrière and the other assistants in Laval, it's the scouting departments I want go through changes, particularly Churla and Crawford.
