The difference is, you are not getting Giants tickets for less than face value. I have PSL's in the upper deck, row 21 on about the 30-35 yard line, and I always get almost double whenever I put them on the exchange. Triple for popular games like dallas.

my giants tickets are in the 200s end zone. we paid 4k per seat for the PSL and it was totally not worth it. of all the new stadiums, metlife is hands down the worst. the seats are crammed together, the sight lines suck and it is a pain in the ass to get up the escalators to the seats - always just a mob scene. I wish they had just renovated the old giants stadium. IMO, Metlife makes the annoyance of the chase bridge obstruction at MSG feel like a dream.

Don't get me wrong, I HATE the new stadium. For me, getting to my seat is the easy part, but I generally head in fairly early to avoid the crowd at the security gate. Generally, about 40-45 minutes before kick-off, I leave the car and start walking in. Getting out is the real P.I.A. Taking the steps after a close game, it is only a matter of time before someone falls, then the people below them go down like dominos and there is a huge problem. I miss the escalators of Giants Stadium that took you right to the upper, middle, or lower tier. Now, I go in, go up the escalator, then have to walk to get the escalators to the upper deck. It is obvious there intention was to increase foot traffic in the 100 level concourse to increase food and merchandise sales. Last year, I went to 8 of the 10 games. Missed one of the pre-season and Carolina. In the 8 games, bought a total of 6 bottles of water and one ice-cream for my daughter at the pre-season game. Bottle of water breakdown was 3 at the pre-season game, and 3 at the home opener against the Flacons. When designing the place, they forgot that people tailgate at football games and are much LESS likely to buy food inside than basketball or hockey games.

I was originally offered club seats with a 7500 PSL and then 400 each on game tickets. Laughed at them and laughed even harder when the rep said that I could sell games for whatever amount I wanted to recoup my costs. I told him at 400 each, there is no room for profit. But yes, even $4000 is too much. $1,000 wasn't so bad. I bought from a friend, he had 14 tickets and my brothers and I bought 6 (2 each). Getting the pre-season games is annoying, but at least they changed the price on those. What we might do this year is sell a package, both pre-season games and the dallas game for $250 each. My seats are $105 for regular season and $53 for pre-season.

I bought Jets season tickets last year, 10 yard line, Row 3. Every single game except for the Pats and Eagles game my seat could've been bought for less than Face value, sometimes half of face value. No demand. This year there is no way that I will renew.

Are you planning to default on your PSL, or sell it?

Agreed. They way overpriced those PSLs at 4K. When they're in the other end zone, you're just watching the jumbotrons cause they're too far away and the angle sucks.

You're now lucky to get 2K for them on the open market.

I disagree with that. I did sit in the 200 endzones for a game this year. Sold mine and bought these from a friend. Thought the sight lines were fine, even when they were down at the other end of the field.

I do know someone who had Jets tickets in the upper bowl, with no PSL. Then, he bought in the 200s, think 2500 each. Tried to convince him not to and he didn't listen. He wound up defaulting on them. His tickets were $125 each and people where getting his section for less than half on stubhub. He just felt like he was throwing good money away after bad. At some point, you stop going to the ATM at the casino because the miracle rally isn't happening.

We normally end up walking up the ramp to get to the 200s because the elevators are such a fiasco. Whoever created the elevator system didn't do so with the entrances facing out. I miss the old giants stadium escalators dearly.

We wanted to be under cover to avoid any weather, so we decided to stick with the mezz which is where we had our old seats at Giants Stadium. We've listed the 4k PSLs on the "giants marketplace" for a few years now but, shockingly, no one is interested. We go to all the games, so it's not a big deal I guess, but it sucks that we can't move our seats until we sell the PSL.

I have Jets seasons in the upper bowl first row (row 5) on the 30. Best seats in the price range (100). Not easy to resell but I go to 4-6 games a year. Relative to the rangers they are inexpensive and I don't see ever giving them up. I have 0 incentive to buy a PSL. Not only that the Jets (and maybe the giants too - not sure) reserved the right to leave the stadium after 15 years.

At least I don't have to worry about paying for playoff tickets.

Leave the stadium?? And go where?? NO WHERE!! No one is going to build another 2 billion dollar stadium around here for the jets or Giants.

Who knows what will happen in 15 years. Who thought the Jets and Giants would agree to spend $2 billion on the crapfest that is metlife stadium? And if the Jets want to give themselves the right to leave after 15 years why shouldn't I consider that in a decision on whether or not to buy a PSL (not that I would have anyway)?

I'm not sure.... But I believe the original psl agreement is a 30 year commitment.

Per the NY Jets FAQ:

How long does a PSL last?
PSLs are good for as long as the Jets play in the new building in its current configuration.

Per Wikipedia: (I read it somewhere else though):
The two teams lease the stadium through the New Meadowlands Stadium Company, LLC, a 50/50 joint venture. The lease has a 25-year term, with options to extend it that could eventually reach 97 years. After the 15th year of the lease, every five years, one of the two teams may opt out of the lease after giving the state 12 months notice. However, if one team leaves for a new stadium, the other team would have to remain for the remainder of the lease. Based on the teams' histories, this clause presumably allows the Jets to eventually decide that they want to play in their own stadium and leave if they can find a way to finance it, although the high cost of the stadium and relocation of team facilities to New Jersey makes this unlikely (although the Jets have relocated their facilities to Florham Park, New Jersey). It is unknown if the lease starts upon construction or upon the stadium's opening. The teams also get parking revenue from the Meadowlands' western parking lots year round, even when there are no events at the stadium (this would occur when other parts of the Meadowlands host events).

I have Giants psl's. I think the agreement was 30 years. I would still be very comfortable If I was jets fan buying psl's today for 10 cents on the dollar.. As long as I went to all the games! Lol. The jets secondary market is worse than the Yankees! Lol.

Sorry let me clarify, I don't have a PSL,, I had Uppers, 10 yard line, Row 3, which is considered Prime Sidelines, with a face value of $110 last year, jumping to $125 this year. Last year I had a difficult time selling the few games I could not attend.

And the reason that I will not renew is because I could've bought almost every game for less than $110 last year. The home opener (for whatever reason) against the Browns my seats were going for $45.

Plus I decided that the Uppers are just to far away from the field, it feels like miles away. So If I am going to drive all the way there, I may as well sit downstairs.

I can't tell if this is the beginning of a surge in the Rangers brand popularity or the total annihilation thereof

I almost canceled my ticket account and was ready to throw out all my memorabilia to turn my mancave into Giants only after seeing that picture.

Not to jump the gun or start rumors, but for arguments sake the city goes through with forcing the Rangers out of MSG and moving to a new arena. We've had the discussion before so no need to get into it again. Well, build a super complex with a football stadium. Tear down the Javits Center to do so. I know Dolan was a main opponent against the Jets West Side stadium, but things can change.

yes, it was for 30 years. So, I am basically paying $66/year, for 30 years. Not a bad deal.
