You need that touch pass from the forward supporting the d on the walls to the second forward who's on the move. They don't do that well consistently.

It's a drawback of the zone system Gallant uses. It tends to make the players a bit static/flatfooted in their own zone which takes away from the immediate puck support.

Seattle works hard, I'll give them credit. They just can't play with us when it comes down to it though. Especially with that goaltending.

Mikkola was better than I expected. Obviously big but he has more jump than expected.

It's gonna take some games for that first line to get acclimated but there's plenty of reason to believe it's gonna work. Taresenko gets to the front of the net. Not only will that result in goals, it will open things up for Mika and especially Panarin.

And the biggest positive is that it looks like his presence is going to get the best out of Panarin. That means everything because we need him to be one of our best.

Attacks the middle of the ice and consistently tries to get open in a scoring position. what a concept

When we were up 3-0 and Kreider had his stick slashed in half as he's trying to shoot a puck in tight and the ref just stared at him and didn't call anything you just knew it was going to be a game management shit show.

This was beyond game management tonight, it was the highest form of incompetence.

The missed off sides (this wasn't a close one, it was clear as f*** in real time) and Delay of Game penalties are things that should never happen. You can't catch everything, but these are so egregious.

Fox got called for something at the end there that rarely gets whistled. Like just f*** off.

With a game tomorrow night it’s likely that they went into auto pilot mode way too soon and then we had to deal with the refs. Glad they got the win and hopefully they’re ready to empty the tank tomorrow.

Yes that's true. They need that second forward to be an option down low if the wall is sealed.

They wanted to haul off Kreider who's left-handed and like ten inches taller. Shows how they pay attention.

I liked the spot interview with Gord Murphy when asked about the new guys and he responded with "they are very tired".

It was good to see Vlad score his first goal to get that out of the way,

But between travel and playing back to back with goin to Carolina, its acceptable to give them a little bit to acclimate

The roster looks great, they can contend with anyone

Got a bad feeling about tomorrow night. Carolina has been off for 10 days and the Rangers second of B2B. It's one thing to have B2B like Seattle did when they played Jersey last night because no travel. It's another to fly to Carolina and get in at 1-2am. We have way too many B2B's with travel.

Yes, this is a good call. They were doing this consistently well in the first half of the game. When they're playing their best, this is something they do like clockwork and it allows them to move up the ice with speed and support. The touch pass to the second forward allows him to receive the puck with speed which allows them to transition easier through the NZ.
