Didn't Lou make it very clear that he made sure to verify the team aspects of Kovy's game and what kind of character he had?
The same would have had to be done for Radulov, and it doesn't seem like too many in Nashville would go through great lengths to do that for him.
So he got drunk with a fellow (Bela)Russian after a loss, big deal. Russians do that all the time and they don`t even have a reason.
Radulov and Kovy would be amazing to watch on offense, but I do not want to watch a line where Kovy is the second best defender in our own zone.
Radulov wouldn't cut it here.
I hate to say that, but the best defense is offense in this case. You take the good with the bad. Radulov`s a beast on the cycle. His puck possession numbers are usually off the charts (not sure if FMASC can confirm this). He controls the puck the same way Zetterberg or Tavares do. Rarely gets stripped off it. Not to mention he had great chemistry with Kovy whenever they played together on a line for Team Russia.
Sure he would have to learn a thing or two, but he looked decent in the most defensively oriented system in the league, so I wouldn`t be too worried about that.
Again, just saying.
Don't the Preds still hold Radulov's rights?
I believe so. For one more year iirc.
Not sure if it means anything though.
