He wants that last big paycheck for him so I don't blame him wanting out if they aren't offering him a good contract so he can get on a team now and get that big extension before the season is finished. If I am the Jackets though I don't trade him unless you get good value because their team is a cup contender this season and losing him will hurt their chances.

Jack Jonson will probably be seeking a 5 year $25 million deal this summer, It will probably be one of his last big paydays as he's already 30 years old thank god Ken Holland will be gone for Detroit because i could definitely see Holland chasing Johnson this summer.

Correct. There's two things the Oilers need on the back end - a clear cut #1 defenceman, and an offensively minded powerplay wizard, preferably a RHD. Jack Johnson is neither.

If I had to guess I don't think he cares about winning as much as his next pay day since his parents stole his money. I'm sure he would accept an ahl assignment if it came with a guaranteed 5x5 contract starting next year
