Getting something like a 3rd + 7th wouldn't be the end of the world, but I'd hope for more.

Maybe we can also run some kind of a package deal, Polak + another rental for a 2nd +

He's not good though.

He's definitely worth more than what you are suggesting though, and he's been playing great this year, even with a couple of weak games.

He has the same value as Reimer. A 2nd with maybe a small plus or a couple of 3rd's. It could go up further than that, but right now (if we wanted him gone), that's the minimum price.

Bottom pairing defensemen are pretty easy to come by.

The Leafs really can't be greedy with an asking price.

He's not going to be in management's long term, or likely even medium term plans. A 3/4th round pick is better than nothing.

Not that many bottom pairing defensemen traded last deadline. Besides the big names, it was mostly a bunch of #6/7s. It's a seller's market.

A couple years ago Leafs trades a 4th for O'Byrne.

Polak is better than that but by how much?

But I do agree it will all depend on the market for defencemen post Christmas break.

Maybe that's why they are playing. Polak and Marincin so much. Both are big guys.
Dmen and depth scoring are what teams will be looking to trade come TDL.
Just hope PAP and Grabner can score a few more goals.
