Imagine the Leafs manage to trade Horton for a draft pick or two. That would be something to cheer about.

We could probably get a 2nd out of him if a team specifically likes him. Could go a long way in replacing the picks we lost for Babcock and Lou.

Maybe we get two 3rd's so we get it over with right away.

It looks like Gunnarsson is healthy, so yeah we officially got hosed on that deal.

who do you think Babcock would rather have right now?

Polak is good for a 3rd round. 2nd rounder is a bit of a stretch.
The way that the Ducks are falling, I have a feeling RC will be their coach before Thanksgiving.

Well really, 90% of the roster is on the trading block so not much new here :).

But would be nice if we could move him to a team that is desperate enough for defense to take a chance on him.

Really? Is Polak or the so called depth Dman in such high demand?

He's not a depth defenseman. He's been scratched for like the first two games, which were among our worst defensively, and he's helped us ever since. He's not going to get you a whole bunch of goals and be able to carry the puck up the ice, but he is as good as cost-effective stay-at-home defensemen get.

Polak isn't as bad as he's looked recently, he's just not a good fit for Babcock's system.

With a thoughtful trade, he can be at least as good as he was last year.

The trouble is he's a stay at home defenseman who has trouble defending.

Still, he's a RH D-man and those are generally in demand. Wouldn't be surprised to get a few mid round picks (3rd or later) for him.

I would be happy if the Leafs waived/traded Marincin & Polak and replaced them with Loov & Percy.

Huh?

He was equally terrible last season. Due to the fact he's terrible.
