And that makes it even more absurd that his word (tweet) is being treated with any kind of credibility.:laugh::laugh:

Fraser needs to shut his face-hole and stop talking about things that have zero to do with his forgettable NHL career. :thumbd:

What? That's why Fraser's opinion is more credible - he's saying he's heard it from other places too, and he's not vouching for some ex-teammate or holding a grudge against a coach who scratched him.

Mark Fraser never played for Mike Babcock, nor was he ever in the same organization as Babcock. He never played in the same organization as Commodore either, afaik.

I'm sure Patrik Elias didn't like plenty of the coaches he played for. He never said a whole lot about it one way or another, and there's no reason for him to do that now that his playing career is over. That said, I assume Commodore (and Fraser's) take on things is a bit extreme, given that Shanahan played for Babcock and then decided to hire him.

‘thread’ means there’s more than one tweet attached. if you read the thread, and scroll through his replies to people asking him questions, you’ll see he basically responded to everything you just said already.

why wouldn’t you believe him? what does he have to gain here? he seems sincere and doesn’t have an axe to grind. there’s literally no reason for him to jump into the conversation and lie.

Well so far it's two back-end pluggers that have come out against Babcock. If it's a front-end guy without an overt axe to grind (like say Zett, Datsyuk, Tavares, Mathews) that's one thing but back-end guys who don't play much aren't going to like the coach very much. Heck, Commodore played 17 games at the end of his career with Detroit and I don't think Fraser ever was in one of his locker rooms to begin with.

Plus being a **** doesn't neccesarily make you a bad coach either.

well those 17 games at the end of the career are why Commodore hates Babcock. Commodore bounced between the AHL and NHL under Babcock in Anaheim after the Devils dealt him there in the Friedan/Sykora trade and they had a rough relationship there. At the end of Commordore’s career, Holland wanted to sign him in Detroit, but he was reluctant because of his prior experience with Babs. Babcock then called him to say he truest wanted him in Detroit and that he would play. Babcock then scratch him for like the first month of the season and only dressed him when he was forced to by Holland. So I get why Commodore might feel have hard feelings if he felt he was lied to in a way that basically ended his career.

Also, it is pretty well known that Babcock and Matthews has a bad relationship, which would be the biggest alarm flag for me. Babcock had to travel to Arizona to try and smooth thing over prior to last season, and then only played him 18 minutes in Game 7. If you are in-fighting with your star player there is a major problem.

It wasnt technically a "thread", but if you go to MF's TWTR account proper, rather than just clicking on that 1 linked tweet, he goes on with about another 4 Babcock tweets, all pretty scathing.

There are so many bad stories out there about Babcock, there has to be something to them. You don't hear anything like this about most coaches, even some of the biggest hard-ass coaches ever don't have this bad of a reputation for managing players.

Devils might need a coach they hate.

Not a defense of Babcock but I don’t mind a coach being disliked for some reasons.

There is a difference between being a tough coach and an arrogant prick
Also a big difference in how you're tough. It's one thing to have a very high standard and to hold everyone accountable to that standard, including punishment skates and such when the players aren't doing what you want. It's quite another to be manipulative and to mentally f*** with players as your style.

Mark Fraser should shut the hell up.

That is my viewpoint and I'm sticking to it. :p:

And please cool it with the Memes (considering what I post, I can't believe I just said that. ), okay?

Let's get something straight here :

I do not want Babcock as Head Coach, not because of what some forgettable PLUG said but because he would not be my #1 choice to replace Hynes.

I would prefer Boudreau, Boucher, before him.

But if the Devils end up hiring him, it would STILL be a massive upgrade at the position (Babcock being an a-hole would not disprove that fact)....

Babcock is like 10 times more stubborn and unwilling to change than Hynes and just got fired by a team that is built similarly to ours. No thanks.

They can put NJ behind the bench for all I care, I just want these losers gone

At least NJ might shatter some glass, would easily be our highlight of the night

I'd like to see him use the t-shirt cannon from behind the bench during puck stoppages.

Commodore has also said that after the trade from us to Anaheim, Babcock told he was out of shape or came to camp out of shape and he got sent back to the American League. So his issues with Babcock apparently started as far back as Anaheim and not at the end of his career in Detroit.

Now that's what I call "HOLDING A GRUDGE".

Jesus christ.... :loony::loony::loony:

I am proven more right in my assertion of Fraser keeping his trap shut by your post, Bleed.

Never knew his beef went so far back.

This makes his tweet all the more a case of an ex-player with an ax to grind than anything else.

I mean..where are the other former players of Babcock to say something (anything bad) about him?

Why are we only hearing from this guy?

What are you talking about? We've heard from two people: Mike Commodore, who played for Babcock, and Mark Fraser, who never played with either Babcock as coach or Commodore as teammate. Fraser is nonetheless vouching for Commodore. Most players have probably moved on with their lives and careers and don't care to weigh in one way or another - I imagine it's something like talking about teachers in high school when you've graduated college. It's in the past and it all doesn't really matter anymore.

Big win by NJ against a tough DET team. Hynes pushed all the right buttons with his lineup moves and got rewarded by HAYDEN. The man is a genius and NJ is fortunate to have such an innovative coach who doesn’t at all rely on the same old garbage that run of the mill NHL coaches do. I mean making sure Zacha and Bratt don’t get to play with Nico after the little bit of time they had together they looked great was exactly the right move. Putting players in position to succeed is what poor coaches do and instead you should force square pegs into round holes. We can all learn a lesson from this sort of Bellichick level work.
