Dahlin
the others -- in whatever order you prefer*

Fox

*Cale & Miro a little above Quinn & Chabot; though all 4 are close & not exactly miles away from Dahlin; for me

How is Dahlin leading? He hasn't shown that he will be the best of the bunch. Miro has been the best to date and can't imagine he won't get better. Makar can pass them all.

Other way around. Makar is far and away the better player right now. It's up to Miro and Dahlin to pass Makar. They're younger than he is too.

Dahlin is by far the biggest talent in that group.

File this in the "s*** people say before they watch a Makar game" category.

The Makar threads are full of people saying things like

"holy crap he's amazing. I thought this was all hype".

Miro is easily the best now and will be ultra-elite the rest of his career. If any of the others surpass him that's amazing (and hey a couple just might). I will say that Heiskanen's offensive ability is severely underrated around here. Shoot right now he has 16 points in 22 games and is second on his team in points (two off the lead) and goals.

Dahlin is younger and did litteraly everything better last season, offensively, defensively, moving the puck. This season, they have been comparable. Dahlin has scored a lot more in less minutes since they got into the League.

Dahlin has never been better defensively than Heiskanen. Now Heiskanen is also better offensively and play 25min/G while facing the opponents best players. With a +11. He also plays PK a lot more than Dahlin, who is used as a sheltered PP-specialist. The age difference between them is a "staggering" 7months. This season they are absolutely not comparable. Heiskanen has been lights out better at everything.

Both have 13 points this season, Dahlin is a great PP QB unlike line Heiskanen, just using 5v5 is irrelevant. Dahlin outproduces him massively per minute. Dahlin has 57 NHL points in 102 games and Heiskanen 47 in 103 games since they got into the league, which was what I was talking about. That is a large difference, especially considering the gap in age. Since they came into the NHL, Dahlin has also had better defensive stats, don’t base it of a 20 game sample size where Dahlin still has better scoring per minute.

Heiskanen faces toughest matchups on Dallas, Dahlin is sheltered on Sabres. Heiskanen play PK which eats minutes - Dahlin doesnt cause he isnt ready for it. Dahlin is a lot worse defensively, while Heiskanen is elite. Heiskanen>>> Dahlin. Go watch a few Stars games...

1. Heiskanen - Best all-around D of the bunch. The guy does it all. Lidström/Niedermayer clone
2. Makar - has impressed me a lot. offensively elite, when better defensively could goto 1.
3. Dahlin - Not up to the hype. Is a liability on defense sometimes and even on Sabres cant play PK or defend leads. Elite offensively though. Will probably learn the D side, but I feel the other 2 will be better than him

Dahlin, Makar, Chabot and Hughes all have a considerably higher PPG in the NHL than Heiskanen, all with comparable or better defensive games. Heiskanen can't match the puck moving ability of any of them, and he lacks the vision, ability to control a game and passing ability of Fox. He is a better skater than Fox, but that is pretty much it. Argue why this post is ridiculous.
That's just wrong. Heiskanen is easily in top 3 of this bunch defensively. Easily.

So far this season makar has been the best offensively in my opinion from this data followed by heiskanen and quite far behind we have dahlin. At this point they are not comparable in my opinion.

(Yes i know there is more to hockey than stats)

Obviously this can change really quickly aswell.

That's so sad. Catch a Dallas game.

Heiskanen is actually Top1 defensively of the bunch. Makar is offensively No1 imo and Heiskanen defensively. All-around Heiskanen/Makar are the best. Dahlin doesnt get PK minutes and isnt trusted last minutes if Sabres lead. I have them as this:

Offensively:

1.Makar
2.Heiskanen/Dahlin
3.Chabot
4.Hughes
5. Fox

Defensively:

1.Heiskanen
2.Fox/Makar
3.Chabot
4.Dahlin/Hughes

Overall:

1.Heiskanen/Makar

2.Dahlin
3.Chabot
4.Fox
5.Hughes

The misinformation about Dahlin doesn’t seem to be working. He has nearly half of the first place votes in this poll and nearly double the amount of votes anyone else has.

Because his potential is still higher and he was drafted 1st overall. He still has the hype advantage over everyone else. Doesn't change the fact that all of these guys are having better seasons than him so far

No, because most people voting probably aren't even aware of that conversation and are voting on reputation.
