Bill Daly: 80% STH renewals yet he never said how many current STH there are. Also 600 new STH for next year.
They OWN the team, and they are covering over $11 million in losses on top of the purchase of the team.
I also believe you have not been close to the cap floor the last two seasons.
NHL has put nothing into the team.
True.
However, investments go far beyond player salaries. A new owner will layout a strategic long-term plan that goes from top to bottom with regards to the organization's on-ice product and the marketing/operations aspects behind the scene.
Stable ownership will provide this...the NHL will not considering they have their own entity to look after.

can they support a team? yes
have they? no
I don't appreciate you attacking our fans

From 2000-2001 to 2008-09 the Coyotes missed the playoffs 7 times out of 8 seasons.....of course attendance was going to drop.
How quickly people forget the attendance issues in Washington, Pittsburgh, and Chicago....all three considered "strong markets" these days. Washington was putrid, and the other two franchises had ownership issues and an apathetic owner respectively. See what happened to both when they were able to solve those issues?

The NHL is doing all of these things now. They run marketing, run their sales staff, employ their scouts.
The NHL is a more stable ownership and management group than several teams in the league have.

Hey, you guys have won, you get to keep your team. Let the rest of us have our fun.
Sure they run it...but how willing are they to innovate and breathe in a new and positive organizational culture?
I'm stunned people cannot realize there's a difference between the NHL owning the team and a dedicated owner....then again, I lived through it with the Expos.
You wont find an owner as dedicated as the NHL. This is proof of that. The NHL is fighting tooth and nail for a franchise that no one wants.
