every mock i've seen has us selected nola a 6 foot 1 rhp. Many scouts think he is the first starter that can make it to the big leagues but may have reliever in his future. i much rather go with almost anyone else.

He's a safe, solid player who will pitch in the big leagues for a long time. I hate putting a ceiling on a guy till you see them against any professional talent, but I bet most scouts would say a 3, maybe a 2 is his ceiling.

I don't mind the pick honestly considering the circumstances. It's not sexy but it's probably the best they could have done there at #7 with the way things went from what I'm seeing here.

I don't mind the pick. What I was lamenting is the fact that we are right on the cusp of being bad enough to get a difference maker, but management keeps us at that precise level of mediocrity because of some desire to let Utley, Lee, Papelbon, etc age themselves into retirement.
