G'luck with that. If you win I want a share but My hearing is bad enough I would have a hard time blaming it on TNSE. Do you think attending 3 events at BMTSP would qualify me?

Just bought tickets to what will be my first live Jets game. Bucket list thing. I only need to do it once. I will have ear plugs.

Nice. To which game are you going, he asks with grammatical correctness?

I always seem to sit next to the guy who buys 2 beers a period.

the same guy that gets almost as much beer in his mouth as he gets on his shirt and the floor.

Correct. It's none of my business, but it's also not a pet peeve of mine either, as long as they leave when there is a stoppage.

I just laugh at these people. You spend hundreds of dollars to watch the game... it's tied 3-3 with 5 minutes to go... and you get up and leave just so you can get home a few minutes earlier.

Where is the "loser" emoji...

That's an assumption on your part, and I believe that is what the poster was talking about. There are a lot of reasons to consider, so for those who do taunt them, perhaps they should think again.

Indeed. People might have pre-existing family or job commitments etc. that preclude them from seeing the end of some games, yet they shell out money for tickets anyway. That strikes me as more than an average fan. And if they just want to beat the rush, so what? Just don't do it while play is on, that's just rude.

Just to add to the leaving early part, with some bus routes (especially on a Sunday game), you can be waiting 30-40 minutes between buses. That isn't much fun from Dec-Feb. That isn't trying to beat the traffic by a few minutes, that's making sure you don't freeze. I've left a few games early because waiting for the final buzzer would mean waiting another 30+ minutes for a bus. No thanks.

People may have medical conditions that require them to leave early/get up from their seats. People may be elderly and have to leave early. People may have a hysterical child with them and have to leave early.

Hell, the Jets could be laying a stinker rotten egg of a game and as a paying STH I'm going to exercise my right to leave early and not give them any more of my time for the day, yah know?

Why question anyone's dedication as a fan due to any of these reasons? I doubt anyone is asking TNSE for a partial ticket refund because they need to leave early. Actually this is Winnipeg, I wouldn't be surprised if someone has lol

I agree that proper etiquette is to wait for the play to be whistled dead (if you can), then get up and leave.

This is the most Winnipeg thread ever. Things your too passive to say at the game but thank god I can rant about it online. If leaners and people chatting in the concourse are ruining your game experience then maybe it’s time to take a break

As long as they aren’t belligerent stop pretending there’s some etiquette others need to follow because you’re entitled to it

While I agree with you about certain aspects the leaning thing is actually a TNSE thing as well. Not an entitlement, an expectation fans can have because the organization that owns the team actually talks about it. Depending on where you sit it can definitely affect your viewing pleasure. I've learned to look at the screen but if someone's really consistent about the leaning I do question why I'm spending thousands of dollars to try and look around someone's head.

The fans that are leaning are obviously really into the game and likely just don’t know any better. Can you imagine going to a game where everyone just sits like a broken pencil and claps when they’re supposed to? It’s all part of the game experience, good or bad. If you accept it as that, then it’s not so bad

Anytime someone is leaning too much in front of me I just kindly ask them not to and explain why. The row in front of me, the first couple seats are right on top of the stairs so they don't deal with obstructed views. I've never had a problem with anyone, usually get an apology and they (mostly) comply

I think we can all agree that the leave early people are pathetic and sad, and just because its 2018 we don't have to find ways to be apologetic about them.

As long as you’re paying for the ticket you can leave whenever you want! Sometimes sleep or cheaper beer is more important than watching the team win/lose 4-1

Not the idiot who sat beside me in the loge one evening. Complaints about his leaning just made him up his game. He put a toque on his head to block the view even more. Ushers talked to him, security talked to him, he was eventually escorted out by WPS. Then his father (the SSH) showed up to berate the fans behind for getting his kid thrown out.

You can do what you want as long as you hand your money over to the team. That's all fine and dandy if you aren't such a burden on everyone else.

Why don't these people save themselves the hassle and just pay for the ticket but stay home?

Question - how many 10 year olds see the last 10 minutes of a game when they have bored middle aged people twice their height shuffling by them so they can get home as quick as possible to their myriad of vices?

i want a built-in toilet that has a "rapid eject" button so you can spray opposing teams with your disdain.

also, having supermodel ushers that hiccups out cheeseburgers and wept tears of lambic beer. that's what i want.
Why do you want the supermodels to cry?

To answer that question I would say

1) those 10 year olds likely miss a few seconds of gameplay

2) Moose games are much more family friendly

3) if a 10 year old is bored and tells their parent they want to leave early are you just as upset?

Not to beat this death because leaning isn't usually an issue I face no I have no real horse in the race but...

Yup, sometimes they don't know better and they can be politely informed. Sometimes, like in the instance of the poor woman who sits beside me they have an individual that has been repeatedly told by the ushers and just ignores the advice. Then it falls back to the incompetence of TNSE staff but that's an aside.

Nice strawman argument as well. None of the people I sit around (other season ticket holders) sit on their hands and only clap when they're supposed to. They're all into the game. But they are also considerate adults that take into consideration the experience of others sitting around them. I'm 6'1", I can lean and ignore everyone if I want to. I choose not to because it will impact others behind me.

Some parts of the arena it's worse (loge areas, end zones), some parts not as big a deal. But it's real, True North has a policy on it. It's only part of the game if you don't give a damn about other people. Is that really the approach we should have people adopt?

Hmm, I don't lean so therefore I'm less invested in the game.

You learn something new everyday around here. :shakehead

Thats on the ushers imo.....they probably handled it like dicks and pissed him off. Personally I've never noticed the leaners. Not sure exactly where its a problem. I have noticed the whiners though......edit that's not a shot at anyone, I notice it at the game.
