Top Shelf said:Awesome video - that plan looks fantastic.
Not that I'm an expert on the issue but I don't see how any of the other proposals can compete with that unless they are willing to build an arena.
Yeah, I believe around 18,000 is the number that has been the most speculated upon (source here). The actual capacity of the arena was never as much of an issue so much as the lack of luxury boxes and the fact that it's a complete dump.go_leafs_go02 said:Arena looks nice, and I would assume it would be around 17,000-18,000 range in capacity, so a bit on the small size, but I don't think Pittsburgh needs a 20,000 seat arena either.

Here's a better plan a bit to the Northeast:

Heh... alright, that's what I figured. It just looked too bleak to be real.DarkHorse said:They just eliminated everything else to make the plan stand out.
I'm beginning to see why that big spire is central to the plan, then. It will really make the entire developmet stand out if the rest of the buildings in the surrounding area are low-level. I must have missed it on the video, but what exactly is that building? Offices?Amazingly though, it's almost as flat. People here freak out when you build anything over a few stories tall.

Jaded-Fan said:Mark Madden today said that Bettman said that the tide had turned and that because of the pressure being felt by the politicians that the Pens now seem unlikely to move. I found this that supported that claim by the big guy:
With Pittsburgh's new arena deal still in jeopardy, Bettman said it was unlikely the Penguins would relocate to "viable" markets such as Quebec City or Winnipeg.
