Haven't watched a second of it and never will. I don't understand the fascination of reality tv in general. Seems like they always take the people who should be heard from the least and give them a platform to share their incredible amounts of stupid to the world.

Yup. That's never been a thing in human history, but that is exactly what is happening now. All forms of visual media have figured out that figurative train wrecks, both manipulated and real, have a high value in a capitalist society. There is no doubt the promotion of this type of "entertainment" can not be good for human evolution.

And perhaps shamefully, I did watch "Tiger King" at the beginning of the pandemic. One of the weirdest things to me is that so many viewers end up taking sides on which characters they like/support/believe, when in reality, it's an objectively stupid group of people all around, none of whom deserve any sort of envy or support.

hey, COVID is scary in how smart it is. It can already tell the difference between a Walmart and a bar
As long as my frickin hockey league doesnt get shut down again, I could care less what time bars and other crap close. I just hope they arent making the league stop by 930 or games would have to start at 630p, which would be a pain to make on time after work.

New Mass. Stay-at-Home Order

Beginning on Friday, November 6, 2020, all residents of Massachusetts are advised to stay home between the hours of 10pm and 5am.
COVID-19 case numbers in our state are rising and the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 related hospitalizations and COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) census have more than doubled over the past 2 months. Social gatherings are contributing to these increases. Left unchecked, the current COVID-19 case growth poses a risk to our healthcare system. Intervention is warranted to moderate case growth and preserve hospital capacity. It’s more important than ever to follow guidance from local, state, and federal officials on how to stop the spread of the virus.
It is critically important that everybody follows the steps listed below, not just for their own health and safety, but for the health and safety of their family and loved ones as well.

In order to comply with this advisory, between the hours of 10pm and 5am, you must:
  • Only leave home to go to work or school, or for essential needs such as seeking emergency medical care, going to the grocery store or pharmacy, picking up take-out food, or receiving deliveries. If you do leave home, practice social distancing by staying 6 feet away from others and wearing a face covering.
  • Not have gatherings in your home with anybody outside of your household.
  • Comply with all Governor’s Orders, including orders requiring face coverings, limiting gatherings, and mandating early closure of businesses.
  • Practice social distancing and avoid touching surfaces frequently touched by others if you go outside to get fresh air.
  • Use remote modes of communication like phone or video chat instead of visiting friends or family.
Taking these steps is critical to preventing the spread of the virus, protecting the lives of you and your loved ones, and preserving our acute care hospital and other health care systems’ capacity.

This should have been squashed 8 months ago. Nobody to blame but ourselves at this point.

You can't "squash" a virus without a vaccine, otherwise all you're doing with shutdowns is delaying infections not preventing them.

Just look at any country as soon as they start to open up. What happens? They have a spike in cases.

It isn't going away, and shutting everything down until there's a vaccine is not viable, especially since the vaccines keep hitting delays in trials.

As bad as this is, I will take it instead of going back to step 2. Just wish it was 11pm-5am instead.

Sounds like they probably shouldn't have opened up then.

This country was woefully unprepared, misrepresented, and pushed on all systems go despite science telling us otherwise.

I'll take my chances on delaying infections, thanks.

Plenty of other countries have managed this far better and had far less of an outbreak because of that handling. I won't get into the whole who do you blame piece, but to say the US handled this well would be a gross overstatement. Even now, with everything rising quickly, the only hope is a vaccine because some people won't take this seriously. If we as a collective did take this seriously, the mitigation of this outbreak would be going a far lot better than it is.

What do you think would happen to the healthcare system if a massive amount of people got Covid at once?

hey, COVID is scary in how smart it is. It can already tell the difference between a Walmart and a bar

I attended a wedding recently. At first everyone was social distancing and wearing masks. Fast forward to hour 2 of an open bar; masks were everywhere but on faces, and the social distancing was non-existent. So it may not be that the virus is smart, but it is 100% for sure that drunk people are dumb.

Me, I had a single glass of wine and stayed at a table with my sister and niece, both front line healthcare workers who are tested regularly.
