I still remember that last 4 points game in St-Louis playing with Lucic. I would have loved him paiered with Lucic at that time. What a force Lucic was....i think Bergeron would have had physical slack from opponents with Lucic on his wing.... but Marchand and bergeron became something special!

I’m coaching my little guy this year and I find myself using Bergeron as a teaching tool more so than any other player. The guy just plays perfect hockey. Constantly makes the right decision. His best attribute might be hockey IQ

So, it sounds like whatever injury that’s making him miss games was known last year and planned for. I wonder if it’s going to always be there or if he was screwed by the short offseason.

On the plus side, being over a point per game with a groin injury is not bad. Granted, yes, look at his linemates, but it's not like he's an anchor dragging them down.

I just hope they find a workable solution, whatever it is.

I have a question. Bergeron or Datsyuk and why.

Datsyuk had 918 points in fewer games it has taken Bergy to get 837 though Bergy may eventually pass him in points. Datsyuk has 2 Stanley cups but only one all star game.

I take Bergy but I am fully biased and though Datsyuk was also elite defensively And was a leader I give Bergeron a strong advantage in intangibles and I think it might be just fan bias.

When dealing with elite players like these two its
pretty difficult to say with certainty one is better
than the other. Datsyuk certainly had a higher offensive
peak and Bergeron IMO was a bit better defensively.

Datsyuk was named to 3 All Star games and was 2nd Team All Star in '09.

If Bergeron were healthy we would have beaten St. Louis. It's imperative that he make a full recovery. Sit him until he is fully recovered or is truly needed. I really don't care if we're a regular season juggernaut this year. Just try to keep everyone healthy for the playoffs.
Or if Pasta’s hand was 100%,because he sure wasn’t shooting anything like he is right now.

Datsyuk in his prime was my favorite player so I’d probably pick him. He was a two way force with some of the best hands in the league. If nothing else his highlight reel moves were just fun to watch.

Just finished the Bergeron 1000 special on NESN and had a hard time holding off the water works.

Patrice is a great player but you have to hope injuries are not taking their toll. Hes now arguably the fifth best player on his own team.

Bergeron is my favorite player. Let me just get that out of the way.
Now that I've said that, I am honestly wondering... what is this team's record over the last 2 years WITHOUT him in the roster? I swear this team is almost undefeated when he is NOT playing... Just something that I realized. Anyone have actual numbers on this?

Yeah, that's a hard no from me, dawg.
No, you don't think all five of them are great players? I doubt many teams have as many great players as we do. Tuukka and Halak could also be considered great also. Seven guys like ours are unheard of!

Never said that, I'm saying no way Bergeron is arguably the 5th best player, haha.

I know you are new here, and probably a youngin', but no, Patrice Bergeron is not the 5th best player on this team. At the very least he is top 3 on this team. We are talking a player who is unarguably the best 2 way forward in the game, and arguably the best in the history of the game.

Bergy is great but I'm saying we have guys who have thankfully progressed to the point that they are now more skilled and valuable than he is. Pasta, Hobbit and Marchy for sure.

Again, don't agree.

Pastrnak and Marchand have more skill, but Bergeron at worst is #3 on the team.

Lol.....

Bergeron is easily a top 3 talent on this team. Injuries aren't going to change that. Takes in here are silly.

Bergeron is top 3.

One could make an argument for Pasta being the highest valued, based upon age and high end goal scorers are very hard to find, there are only a handful in the entire league.

Marchand and Bergeron are probably equal in terms of value plus age.

I guarantee every GM in the league would take Bergeron over Krug.
