I don’t see it. That would require Karlsson’s contract to be on the cap for the next 4 years and leave the habs with one less retain spot to use during the upcoming trade deadlines.
Does retention need to be for each contract year?

And if the player is bought-out, which EK could very well be given his age, the team that retained on him loses that spot for as long as the buy-out penalty is on the cap -- ie double the length of the contract remaining. See how badly ARI got hit with an 8 year retention spot loss when VAN bought-out OEL's contract the other day.

Did Jack Edwards have a vote? Whoever not only failed to put McD at #1 but ranked him *fifth* is going to be mocked mercilessly when his/her identity comes out.
Edwards isn't part of the PHWA so he didn't have a vote. Usually the PHWA makes the votes public in 1 or 2 days after the Awards.

Why couldn’t we give them Hoffman or Armia?? Damn.
Armia has 2 years left on his deal and the Hawks would rather have Hall at 2 years. My guess is that Bedard is going to live with Foligno next year. They obviously will want him to live with a veteran they trust

The same voter who gave Pastrnak a 1st place vote

A guy who should not be able to vote ever again he is clearly a fan of the Bruins.

Why couldn’t we give them Hoffman or Armia?? Damn.
Because who the f*** would want those guys around Bedard?

Nick Foligno is obviously not worth 4 millions a year but to reach the floor he's a good vet to have around your kids.
