I'm not sure what in my post refers to the matchups EK is taking?Karlsson always takes tough matchups, go rip on a team you understand.
Avalanche had a huge locker room and leadership shakeup that sparked a winning culture and mentality with a youth movement on both leadership and the overall roster.Well, Colorado had 48 points in 2016-2017 and followed it with a 95 point season in 2017-2018. It can and has been done, particularly with the increasing parity in the league.
Huh our captain not skating on one leg and no longer having to deal with Hoffman,s GF,also having Stone play more than 50 some games...never mind some really good kids coming...Ottawa on paper looks bad and just may be...But there is still hopeAvalanche had s huge locker room and leadership shakeup that sparked a winning culture and mentality with a youth movement
I don’t see anything similar from the Sens.
That’s not even remotely comparable.Huh our captain not skating on one leg and no longer having to deal with Hoffman,s GF,also having Stone play more than 50 some games...never mind some really good kids coming...Ottawa on paper looks bad and just may be...But there is still hope
No huh???Well we will see wont weThat’s not even remotely comparable.
Its on our kids .... Ottawa,s the biggest issue with has been up front...We have been a terrible possession team, the style of forwards we have and have coming all point to rectify this huge issue, the defense while it does appear to be so very green... Could helped by having a much better group of possession style forwards, and not being as overworked as it has been in years past. The same could be said of the outshot every night goaltendersNothing gives me any hope that they'll improve on their dreadful 284 goals against.
If anything their defense has gotten worse + Anderson is older.
Karlsson might be slightly improved, but Anderson is probably worse, so zero net improvement IMO.
At this point it's Karlsson and a scabby group of 4/5/6/7 defensemen with a bottom 3 starting goalie.
They can definitely score though!
karlsson doesn't always take on the tough matchups. he was 4th on the sens blueliners in toiqoc at even strength. at all situations, he was behind ceciKarlsson always takes tough matchups, go rip on a team you understand.
No, it literally isn’t comparable in any sense. If the Senators have success, it won’t in any way mirror what the Avs went through this seasonNo huh???Well we will see wont we

No you are right we didnt have an expansion level season, thus if we improve it likely wont be by as muchNo, it literally isn’t comparable in any sense. If the Senators have success, it won’t in any way mirror what the Avs went through this season

I doubt he'll be better. He's 37, and doesn't like it in Ottawa.I really doubt Anderson will be worse than he was last season
What is so different about Ottawa and Col???Can Ottawa not turn it around ???Can Ottawa,s kids that are pretty decent actually propell the team forward???Can our bigger players not have a rebound season??Or is that a Col specific thing???[MOD]

You keep going on about how it cant be same, but fail to explain actually why it cant be...
But can you say with 100% certainty that Ottawa cant be a Cinderella team that way overperforms their talent level? No? Then there is a chance that pigs fly and that roster pulls 96 out of nowhere and proves the sens fans right. So get out of here with your logically thought out posts.[MOD]
I've explained multiple times how Colorado's situation was driven by the coaching change happening really late and the roster being full of old, slow, and unmotivated veterans leadership that were given easy lives in Patrick Roy's high level of trust for veterans. Add a bunch of fringe players that already proved they weren't NHL material, and you have what made them bad.
Colorado's youth movement wasn't helpful because it was youthful. It helped them because they could buy into the coaching and new leadership in a way the old, slow, veterans that liked Roy's verteran preference didn't. Later, getting rid of players like Duchene who weren't willing to commit to the team's long term success allowed the team to come together even more.
Ottawa's situation is nothing like this. No significant change in leadership. No coach that was thrown into a bad situation. No player leaders committed to the team long term and to drive the team to be better. If they have success, it will have to come in a different form.
,the end result would be the exact same...Ottawa can rebound ,its not like they are devoid of talent ...Both at the nhl level and at the prospect level....I know its hard to believe but teams and players can have bad years followed by good ones[MOD]
