I'd rather have kept Hartikainen. We need functional toughness, not players who can't play, on that subject I think Gazdic needs to be sat a little more often particularly against teams who aren't sporting a tough guy.
In my opinion Hartikainen was more capable of providing functional toughness he isn't going to dish out punishment very often, but he receives it and keeps pushing forward which is a great attribute in itself and has a lot more natural ability and skill then Fraser. Hartikainen is one of 3 Oilers in the past what 5 years who was willing to set up infront of the net and take the punishment that comes with playing there. He's a player I feel Eakins would've really liked if he had a chance to coach him, but instead Eakins wanted Acton, Hamilton, Fraser, and Scrivens (obviously pretty happy about the last one right now
); but MacTavish needs to put a stop to this, all coaches usually have their one or maybe two pet players they always want to have, but there needs to be some line in the sand, we're not going to be successful re-uniting his Toronto Marlies dream team.
