Also Nuge is on pace for 78 points

His production has stayed pretty steady even away from McDavid which is great news. He seems to be finding ways to contribute on the scoresheet this year, PP, shorthanded on the PK, as well as 5x5.

Seems hitch doesn't like how our D hang out at the ends of the blue line while forwards are in the zone. Been the Oilers way for a while, D at opposite ends of the blue line, bailing the zone at the drop of a hat. Will be interesting to see if he can change that up and get some more useful aggression from the D (he was specifically talking about Klef/Larsson needing to get in closer to keep plays alive and be available for closer shots).

Kinda funny how we hire Hitch, known as a pioneer of conservative shut it down hockey, and he is complaining about habits our players have developed like forwards bailing scoring areas too quickly, and D being too conservative.

I swear TMac preached this cause the Sharks under TMac did the same thing. Dmen at the blueline but by the boards to help pinch in any breaking out wingers from the opposition and also to be an easy option for our forwards to pass back to for the clapper. You could argue this spot is essentially Brent Burns’ office. Only problem is, we don’t have a Brent Burns and we don’t have a Pavelski (an elite net front presence and tipper).

I’m very interested in seeing how Hitch teaches our top pair to play closer and more towards the Center of the ice. Of course Hitch knows best, but I’m just wondering who takes care of the opposition winger waiting at the sideboards for the break out?

D read and react depending on who has possession of the puck. They will not be stationary and can cover the break out on the read.

try as they might, but the Refs couldn't give the Kings the game.
so sad.

The refs weren't happy. Actually they caught footage of one of the refs after the game.

You don't think that the called back goal he allowed wasn't just a terrible goal to let in?

Also when he got caught out of his net, it was only a diving play by one of the defencemen that saved a sure goal.

Definitely some shaky moments tonight.

I don't see how anyone could watch that game and not come away with the impression that Koskinen was shaky at times.
Trade him fast!

Something clicked for him last season. He had 31 points in 46 games and a near 30 goal pace before ever touching McDavid's line (and running into an injury).

It was always wrong to utilize him as a hard match-up center, and luckily that has come to an end.

I'm starting to be impressed with Koskinen.

Hope to see Puljujarvi score many more goals on that second line.

The Finns are back in town.

I hope as well. I predicted 27 goals for Puju after the preseason he had. I also predicted I would win the Lottomax by now and here I am still working.

At least it'll remain a secret just between us two. If this gets out, the GF will never look at me the same way again and I'll be sleeping on the lawn the rest of my life. And you know what that means: no more internet access. No, I'd rather die!

As Thomas Jefferson probably would say today: give me life, liberty and direct, 24/7 access to porn!

Can u imagine TJ and Trump squaring off in a debate? U could go Pay-per-view on that one!

Just watched the highlights. Both of nuge's assist were exactly the same. I love it, nifty little pass to set up the one timer

Has anyone else noticed a sound in the home broadcast this year...almost every time the puck is carried across the blue line (going left) there is a sound like a puck ringing off the post? Drives me nuts. FIL thougt I was nuts until I pointed it out and now he hears it too.

Yes!!!
I have been wondering the same thing! What the hell is that?
Kostco taps his post everytime the opposition enter the zone.

Oh god....
1. Easterner
2. Hair
3. Selfies

I really hope he wears tube socks from Wal-Mart ;)
I think he creates so much away from the puck and when he has it that it is a pain in the a$$ for anyone who has to defend him. He is the best one on one player in hockey and getting other people involved in the scoring is a great thing for a team like this. I don't have a problem with it. I do agree against Vegas it would be nice to see him put in a couple. There does need to be more offense generated. Wish more of the defensemen would just start throwing pucks at the net, with players like McDavid that area should always be busy.

Doughty snapping his head back constantly to try and get a call, Dustin Brown with that smug look on his face, Quick throwing his hands up for offsides, etc. Absolutely detest the kings.

Suck on it.

Could have had 6 PP's from penalties on Connor but god forbid the refs are actually competent.

how long do you guys think it normally takes a new coach to get a feel for what he has in his players? 5-10 games?

Quick also went out of his way to slash Jujhar.

I really like Doughty on Team Canada. Guy is a helluva player with exceptional talent, but on the Kings I just want to punch him in the face.
