The old 2D logo has history, and good history with some decent success associated with it.
Changing the logo again to something different would just be pointless and that point I would rather stick with the 3rd. By going back to the 2D, you are not "fixing what ain't broke" and accepting that we had something good and should never have changed it.
Pierre Dorion pay attention:
the rebuild, the prospects, the young coach and GM, the players and prospects punching above their weight - so much of the ‘Sens Way’ and history of how the club was successful was lost when Muckler was fired. We were a conservative club that looked inward for solutions - with Murray we became a club that looked for solutions outside of the club (bad trades, bad signings, bad prospect management)
the rebrand is to bring the fans back to a time when we had pride in the club, the entire city beloved in the function of the team and the process - that’s all been destroyed and although it’s a good idea to bring the tie or those organtiozanal standards and practice - there is no way in hell a Melnyck owned team can have a standard that anyone can respect because the root cause of our success under Martin/Muckler etc was that the organization respected their players and cherished them - Melnyck owner franchises can’t do that - he wants the praise for himself as a saviour and authority figure of a difficult fan base (Which he doesn’t realize he will never ever get).
for the rebrand to work with the fans and he full commitment to the players has to be brought back. Until it does, the fans won’t be back because we bought tickets so Alfie, Chara and Redden stayed in town, we were a part of it, there was a direct link between your $18 beer and Alfie staying in Ottawa. Now when you buy an $18 beer some of that goes to casino debt, some goes to a divorce payment, some goes to a fake charity - the link between true fan support and the team is gone.
