So LeBlanc basically confirmed the jerseys will have different striping, as we saw from the women's fanatics jersey. Judging by that leak, the sleeve numbers will probably be above the stripes.

Hopefully the white's still have the red and black at the bottom, rather than just a single red stripe.
Was it an interview he did on the radio?

Am I the only one who's glad we got rid of the 3d logo but overall pretty meh about going back to a logo we already had for 15 years?

It's an improvement from where we've been but ending up back at square one doesn't exactly excite me.

Well, I'm sure Sherlock Holmes would have noticed, but Joe "I'm trying to hold on to my two toddlers after one just pissed himself and the other is licking the floor" Public may have missed that particular detail.
Joe here, and my kid pissed himself because I wasn’t paying attention due to me following this chat thank you very much

I think there was a small minority who wanted a ‘new’ logo. Majority were split on the 2d and =O=

I was for the latter, 2D second and a distant 3rd a new logo.

What comes around goes around. Let's hope the 07 talent pool has a renaissance as well!

I don't necessarily want a "new" logo per se, but I think the old one could have been cleaned up a bit more. Not necessarily cartoonish like that alternate one that popped up a few years ago but something a bit cleaner with maybe a slightly different colour palette.

Frankly the entire left side fringe of the logo is a mess and always was.

I'm at the point where 75% of a good thing exceeds my expectations with respect to this organization.

I'll take it.

I see this as finally correcting a mistake they made years and years ago - why we ever moved on from (rather than occasional minor updating of) the original logo is a perplexing question for me. The =O= logo is a wonderful silver lining from that bad decision, but returning to the original logo and jerseys is amazing - and it took too long to do. No one questions why the O6 teams never stray too far from their original (or at least, cemented and well known) logo/jerseys.

We should have always been at, or near, square one.

The old 2D logo has history, and good history with some decent success associated with it.

Changing the logo again to something different would just be pointless and that point I would rather stick with the 3rd. By going back to the 2D, you are not "fixing what ain't broke" and accepting that we had something good and should never have changed it.

The pandemic is kind of uncharted waters so I'm willing to give them a pass on this.

Really? I see it the other way around. The pandemic is the perfect time to do a viral marketing campaign ramping up to a new uni reveal. Everyone's extremely online these days, especially as the days get colder. This could have been a big hype machine for the org but they just sort of stumbled into the reveal, with Giant Tiger scooping them with a boxers display.

Granted, at least they didn't mess up and use the wrong logo, or alter it in any unappealing way, so there's that.

I'm overjoyed tbh. Being a fan of a team for so long and basically hating its branding is very disappointing, as was the case with basically every non-O jersey since 2007. Sayonara, 3D logo!

A terribly anti-climactic reveal.
Despite all that, totally overjoyed to dispense with the peek-a-boo logo.

Bring on the draft and hopefully a lengthy pre- season

Not with the gold trim on the cape, the old logo would have the red trim instead.

It helps to get proper confirmation from the team. There was always a small risk that what we had seen going around the internet was only a "similar" version.

The "new" logo however, is perfect.

I was referring to the fanatics jersey that was released at Canadian Tire a week or two ago, seemed as legit as you can get i thought?

The first part of my post was in response to @NyQuil (pretty sure I quoted him) who said that Giant Tiger might have some "old 2D" product in storage that they put out. Which is why I said it cannot be "old 2D" because the picture of the boxers shows the newer updated 2D with the gold trim.

Yep.

I'm glad they fixed their mistake...but I'm not going to do cartwheels or anything.

Nice to see the 2D back.

Exactly. Correct the mistake and then build on that restored solid structure.

Very happy to see us going back to the vintage 2D! The O is too easy for chirps and personally I think it sucks to have a letter as a logo. Just meh. When I look at the Canucks vintage I cant wait to see our new jersey, will def be getting one.

Hilariously bad release strategy, but I don't care. This is what I've wanted for ages. I get to be proud of the logo I associate myself with again.

The =O= is fine, bring it back next year as a 3rd, and they can change the cream to white to justify a new purchase and make some more money.

Very excited, just a bit of a shame Sens social media didn't pump me up for it a little more, but ultimately no one will remember that.

Pierre Dorion pay attention:

the rebuild, the prospects, the young coach and GM, the players and prospects punching above their weight - so much of the ‘Sens Way’ and history of how the club was successful was lost when Muckler was fired. We were a conservative club that looked inward for solutions - with Murray we became a club that looked for solutions outside of the club (bad trades, bad signings, bad prospect management)

the rebrand is to bring the fans back to a time when we had pride in the club, the entire city beloved in the function of the team and the process - that’s all been destroyed and although it’s a good idea to bring the tie or those organtiozanal standards and practice - there is no way in hell a Melnyck owned team can have a standard that anyone can respect because the root cause of our success under Martin/Muckler etc was that the organization respected their players and cherished them - Melnyck owner franchises can’t do that - he wants the praise for himself as a saviour and authority figure of a difficult fan base (Which he doesn’t realize he will never ever get).

for the rebrand to work with the fans and he full commitment to the players has to be brought back. Until it does, the fans won’t be back because we bought tickets so Alfie, Chara and Redden stayed in town, we were a part of it, there was a direct link between your $18 beer and Alfie staying in Ottawa. Now when you buy an $18 beer some of that goes to casino debt, some goes to a divorce payment, some goes to a fake charity - the link between true fan support and the team is gone.
