Quinn Hughes picking up points in B2B wins for the Canucks. Also named to the All-Star Game.

He is now only 1 point behind Cale Makar.

I think the most impressive thing about Quinn Hughes is how much ice time he is getting. He had 23:40 of ice time in today's win against Minnesota, which was the most on the team. Next highest was Tyler Myers at 21:08 - not even close. Now, to be fair, the Canucks had a lot of power plays, but still that is damn impressive. If this kid can do that at 20 years old, what is he gonna look like at 22 or 23? Will he be a 30 minute d-man?

Actually, his average ice time this year for the entire season is 21:27 which leads ALL rookies.

should be noted he has played 8 extra games

Obviously people don't know what they're talking about when they dismiss Samsonov from the race. Without him Caps are not leading their division right now and could have very well been on a pretty long losing streak. He's in the top-4 behind only Makar, Hughes and maybe (just maybe) Marino. Saw enough of Fox, Necas, Olofsson and others mentioned in this thread to be sure of that. If Ilya plays the rest of the season the way he's been playing so far, then he's without a doubt will be in vegas on the awards show in June.

Yes one of them missed 8 games .....

Which means what exactly? Makar would have more points? Point are part of it, overall impact on the team is also part of it.

Hughes is a massive part of the Canucks improvement this season. Colorado made the playoffs last year & have the (arguably) Hart favourite this year.

I'm not saying this to take away from Makar, but to brush aside Hughes season is absurd. He's probably his teams best defenseman.
