Just started sprinkling a bit here

gotta say, i don’t mind living on the cape. We did have our first real tornadoes this past year but for the most part we avoid the extreme heat/cold/snow storms....at least relative to most of the state.

Doesn’t hurt that I’m off the same street as the police station so when I lose power it ain’t out very long. I’d wager that has something to do with that ;)

i live near a mountain and all the severe storms die right when they get to our area.
winter its the opposite tho.

Anyone starting their gardens yet? I just picked up two clones today and will be planting them outside this week. The weather looks like it’s finally turning. I’m just worried about getting more wind or a strong storm and destroying the plants.

I planted tomatoes, basil & peppers today (I’m in PA).
already have lettuce, spinach in. Our rule is usually plant on Mother’s Day, but it was freaking cold last weekend.

P.S. clones of what?

My Mom (who had a very green thumb) said to always wait until Memorial Day. There is always a chance of frost. It depends where you live

What kind of plants? We just put in a few cuts of strawberries, and they should actually bear fruit this season. I leave that stuff to my wife though, as I kill any plants I try to take care of.

Just got back from food shopping. First time for me in over a month. Market32 in Sutton had tons of fresh veggies, fruits and meats.
Lots of paper goods except TP.
Prices are high but everything was there. May be worth a ride?

You cant get in without face coves. Everyone there complied.
Sanitant to spray down carts. All employees wearing PPE and plexi n place for separation. The register belts are sprayed with disinfectant after every customer before you put your stuff on.
Unidirectional aisle flows.
I was pretty impressed.

Yup we never planted our garden until Memorial Day weekend, there was sure to be a frost if we did it earlier.

Heck just last week the temperature went down to 33-34 at night.

I went to Market Basket in my town. I don't shop there often but they open at 6 for us old folks.

They had lots of toilet paper but were short on some things (meat).

everyone has masks on

Awesome! I'll have to make a run out there this week at some point. My mother in law found us some lettuce and celery so we could at least give the girls some salad/veggies with their dinners. But I think after all this has cooled down we're going to look into joining one of those CSA programs at a local farm. Maybe even one that includes meats.

Thanks for the heads up @Gee Wally!!

“Medical” marijuana. One is Sour Diesel and the other is Jack Herer. I’ll also plant some cucumbers and sunflowers. I planted sunflowers a couple years ago and it’s impressive how big they get.

Are strawberries a one and done plant? I love my blueberry bushes, maintenance free and they produce a ton.

Phyllis George, the wholesome, blond Miss America winner who later became one of the NFL’s first female sportscasters and Kentucky’s first lady, has died at the age of 70.

George died Thursday from complications from a blood disorder, said her ex-husband, former Kentucky governor John Brown Jr.

Three years after the Texas-born beauty claimed the Miss America 1971 crown, CBS Sports hired her as one of the hosts of their Sunday pregame show, “The NFL Today.” She teamed with Brent Musberger, Irv Cross and Jimmy “the Greek” Snyder to form an iconic combo.

Made the mistake of finally laying eyes on some of the new model Cadillacs. I have the itch again. Whoa mama they are flipping gorgeous. Just need to keep telling myself it’s a stupid decision, especially now.

Nothing like seeing a flashlight beam just outside your bedroom window at 8:45 pm on a Saturday to scare the ever-loving wits outta ya. :eek2:

Turns out it was just the apartment maintenance guys checking out the air conditioning units out there. :skeptic:

Get a first floor apartment, she told herself. It will be great, she told herself.
