Who the hell can do this to an animal?

I LOATHE cats, and I'd take this cat because that's just such a massively awful, ****ty thing to do.

People suck.
I cried at the part in Air Bud where the kid tries to get the dog to leave him. And that's a movie

And if you really want to bawl your eyes out, watch Hachi. That one is based on a true story.

Animals have feelings, I cannot be convinced otherwise. And people that abandon them are awful.

I had a plan N and my friend had plan W for the same seats - we just could not justify it anymore

I've had the W plan since 1991. Started in the bleachers at $8 per ticket until they closed off my section for day games. Moved to first base grandstand for a long stint and then moved to 3rd base Loge Box. Loge Box was a flat $95 per ticket my first season in that location and now with the tiers pricing 5 of the games are $155, 5 are $138, and 5 are $109. Near impossible to sell at face value for games I can't go to. W package includes Opening Day and Patriots Day and because of the Patriots Day game there is always a wrap around weekend series and with that and Opening weekend almost 30% of the games in the package are in the terrible weather April month. I guess that when I started 30 years ago my younger self could tolerate the cold weather games but now it's harder when the game weather is cold and rainy

I tried and tried to justify keeping them but every scenario I came up with ended with the same answer of No.

My stepdad's grandson (not sure what I call him in relation to me?) has been in the hospital the last couple days. They ran some tests that preliminarily show he may have some type of bone cancer. Supposed to find out for sure tomorrow. He's only 12.

Animals and waitstaff for me.

Yep. One of my father's favorite sayings was "Do you know why people abuse waitresses? Because they think they can. Don't be that person."

Of course he'd say wait staff today, but you get the point. I always over tip, and if the food is bad, I ask to see the chef or manager, and the wait person still gets a good tip.

https://nypost.com/2019/12/18/thief-hijacks-van-of-lobsters-crashes-into-another-lobster-truck/

A Boston man hijacked a van loaded with $10,000 worth of lobster bound for Europe — only be foiled by workers in a second vehicle who chased him down.

The brazen shellfish thief then deliberately slammed his stolen vehicle into the second truck.

Quick-thinking employees risked getting battered and detained the man until police arrived.

“It’s probably the most Boston thing that’s ever happened,” Peter Lagorio, the company’s sales and marketing manager, told Boston Magazine.

Woody Harrelson NAILED Archie Bunker tonight :thumbu:

I am not a fan of remakes and tonight they recreated a show that aired on Christmas Night in 1976. The show was done live and had to work around what was happening in the real world which was a nightmare for ABC.

It was powerful and the entire cast led by Woody pulled it off.

I'm sure some of you saw the recreation but here is the original

What do y’all think about Italian deserts? I feel like the sugar cookies and cakes are usually dry. Gelato is good but I’d rather have ice cream. Cannolis are fine but I don’t love them.

I do think it would be unfair if Italian deserts were super delicious. They already have incredible dinner and cappuccino so something has to give I guess.

I watched both shows last night and really enjoyed them. I remember watching those episodes back in the 70s when I was a kid, and it amazes me how far they pushed things for that time. Could never see it happening today, but it was really special. Loved that they had John Amos do a guest spot as the corrupt alderman and I thought that Marisa Tomei was incredible with the job she did capturing the essence of Edith Bunker's character. Tremendous job by her and Woody.

You call him family :)

Sending all of the healing vibes I have and also sending you and your family a virtual hug. Tell him to kick cancer's ass.

I have zero ****ing time for people who have no time, or no sense for their animals. I adopted a shelter dog about 6 years ago, some guy left her at the dump when she was 2 years old, she had a litter of pups but none could survive the harsh cold. One of the nicest, sweetest dogs I have ever had. Also, her name is Tuukka.

I also vow to find whoever the "owner" was before hand and take their heads off their shoulders. Absolutely no time for people who neglect animals. You might as well be an axe murderer to me.
I totally agree with getting the terrible people who neglect or are cruel to animals.

Your pup is adorable !

My pup was abandoned in an apartment in the city. The people moved out AT CHRISTMAS and it was a week before the neighbors called the cops. He has never had an accident in the house, never snatched a piece of food or growled/snapped at us.
He is perfect.

After 30 years I officially gave up my Red Sox Weekend season ticket package. Increasing prices making it hard to get face value back for a game I don't go to, loss of interest from people I regularly go with, and what looks like a mini rebuild of the team were the major factors in the decision.

I thought that I was feeling OK with the decision but now that the renewal deadline has come and it is official I feel more sadness than anything else. Am I having a weird reaction to the finality of it or is this normal? For anyone that recently gave up their B's season tickets did you feel more relief or sadness. I know the day will come when I have to give up my B's tickets but I have not had them as long as the Sox tickets.
I know the day will come when I have to give up my B's tickets. It is so expensive and I am wanting to retire ASAP.

I will sell more at first. I am not ready to give them up

Once I retire I want to keep them for at least a year so I can see what it is like to be able to NOT have to get up at 5:30 am after getting in late from a game....and driving route 93 when no one has plowed it :madfire: and finding out that my street hasn't been plowed even though we have 8 inches of snow :madfire: and not being able to get up the damn driveway.:madfire:

sigh...sorry for the rant
