I'm not the first to make this comparison, but the only thing that'd make the Thursday and Friday of the Round of 64 more fun is if it was hockey instead of basketball. If the hockey is of decent quality, and having no crowd doesn't make it too much of an "uncanny valley" type of event, this has the potential to be the most fun month of hockey ever. Not only that, but at a time when we are a) all available to watch and b) at a massive loss for decent content right now.

Sure about that? Traditionally in the playoffs you run your starting goalie even on back to backs, and everybody is going to be healed up and rested.

1) There haven't typically been B2B in the playoffs the past few years unless there was some sort of delay of a game.
2) There are likely to be a number of B2B this year to squeeze the entire playoff run into a shorter time frame.

I don't think comparing this playoff to what is traditionally done in the playoffs makes sense. This is going to be a longer playoff with a more similar schedule structure to the regular season. Backup goalies are going to be needed.

Unusual circumstances or not you'd expect teams with set number ones to play every night. They don't really get tired unless its multiple OT's. Resting your goalies only matters over the whole regular season, and most top goalies would say it doesn't matter then either. They haven't played in months, no one is tired. If either of our goalies got hot they could play the rest of the way out. B2B doesn't matter now or ever in the playoffs.

I can't remember the last true back to back in a playoff series though.

But yeah if you're up 2-0 and your starter is crushing it, you play him game 3 and close the series the f*** out.

I think we were supposed to play 6 & 7 against the Islanders back to back last year, but we whooped dat ass. At the very least, if we ever build a huge lead, like 4 or 5 goals late, might not be a bad idea to get the backup some game action. I think I tend to lean try to let your #1 play all games, but nothing would shock me.

1) Teams with a set #1 may go for the marathon, especially if they don't have a strong #2. That's clearly not the case for Carolina.

2) They haven't played in months, no one is in shape to play 180 minutes in 4 nights 2 weeks from now. That's a recipe for injury and heavier reliance on your #2. It wouldn't surprise me to see a few goalies get hurt.

There was some outrage because it happened in the finals a few years ago. Rare, but it's not unprecedented- and I can't remember anyone ever putting a backup goalie in in the playoffs unless the starter blew it. Or that time Luongo had that leave of absence.

I just find it funny in the video they show Forsberg's(not that his wasn't good too) lacrosse goal, but svech's celly. I would think you would show the original as well as Forsbergs.

Guessing they decided they wanted to have both players featured, but there wasn't space for multiple near-identical highlights.

So they decided to split the difference and show Forsberg's goal, followed by Svech's celly, mainly because they don't like Forsberg on a personal level and won't want to have to look at his stupid face.

Went to pick up my daughter. Turned on NHL Sirius radio and heard that "three Hurricanes tested positive."

Took me a minute to realize it was the top of the hour and it was a sports update and the blurb was about college football.

Don't you think it would have been good to start this post with the mention of college football before the team name.

I was like "It's Aho and Teravainen, they just were in that can of death together! f*** you, Komarov! f*** you, Mikael Granlund! Did you kill them out of envy! ...oh."

Yikes..There are a few posts around social that some of the players have been walking around N Hills without their masks so I am kind of expecting it.

If they’re walking around alone outside, it’s fine.

I really hope that’s what you mean...
It probably is if they put them on once inside public places, but all it takes is one careless guy to potentially spread it in the locker room. I would like to believe all of them will be responsible, but we're a young team (especially with the black aces in camp) and there are... varying views on wearing masks so I wouldn't be surprised to see cases before the bubble.

And this is why we need to get everyone in the bubble as quick as f’ing possible. Young pro athletes are not known for their discretion.

"Of course we're wearing masks" -HC Rod Brind'Amour

After the head coach says that, can you imagine being the player to test positive b/c you were careless and/or be seen without a mask having to face him?

Last season regarding COMPETE LEVEL even TT said "“I knew if it wasn't good good I would have to have a little meeting with him. We didn't really have that meeting…he said something nice about me? That's good!”
