Yep. That's how it looks. They got a trade ready contract right now. The 10m paid this season and the big bonus next July I am guessing. That will take the money value of his contract down to 30m over 5 years. We'll see how they structured it, if the first 3 seasons are signing bonus heavy you know they will trade him.
ye lolThat's why people say, even if the Leafs win a cup their fans will complain about the way it was won lol.
Yup. He even said so.I think they have a good relationship, Babs was always high on him. He pushes the good ones.
good thing our GM is interested in improving the team rather than spiting our best playersSo is it 6.9 or 6.96? Either way, imo Dubas caved.
Should have let that p.o.s. sit the year and trade him in offseason, or next offseason.
Again.............your question was who cares about actual dollars.
The answer is several NHL Teams. (that may be potential trade partners)
Not sure what you're extrapolating from that other than an opportunity to restate your Brown is a plug agenda.
Be happy, one of your favs is back in the fold.
Your logic is nonsensical. Its about how much Nylander is paid compared to market value. People that wanted to see it become a game of cat and mouse (strong-arm Willy into settling for less) never got the bigger picture.we conceded 1.5 M, nylander conceded 1 M, we lost. There is nothing else to talk about.
What he's actually making doesn't matter. His cap hit does.
His cap hit is $200k higher than Pastrnak - let that sink in. We all used the Pastrnak contract as the comparable, and his AAV is LITERALLY the Pastrnak deal + inflation.
It's a good deal.
The Leafs started at 5.5?
Ok. But take a step back. We are arguing about his worth. To ascertain that, we will always use a model of some sort to come up with a number, whether that model is just guessing based on whatever criteria catches our attention or a scientifically deduced one.Apparently he has a self-proclaimed error of 27% for contracts >1.5 mill AAV. That is pretty significant from a statistical standpoint, even if it is the best one.
That kind of accuracy is like "cool" to get an idea of what a guy could earn, but nobody in their right mind should be using it if as a legitimate model if it has 27% error.
no one doubted Willie started high , just like it's easy to assume the Leafs started low , the problem was the delusional people who believed Willie never lowered his initial askAnybody doubting the $8+M initial ask by the Nylander camp now?? To me, Leafs caved with the intent to move him. Let the Nylander to XYZ trade rumors begin.
Better walk the walk now Willie.
We will see how long he remains a Leaf. Unless Dubas can perform some magic with Mathews and Marner he will be traded is my opinion. 7m per in years 2-6. Plus 10m in year 1 is a lot of money for a 20 goal 60pt player.true don't think they gonna trade willy now. Nylander has good relationship with his team mates and never asked for a trade; if he at least performs his contract (which he will, i think he may out perform few years); there is no urgency in trading him
i guess brown is gone after the season and that money is spent on Gardiner with some AHLers coming as replacements. Marner/Matthews contracts are gonna be done; tricky ones are gonna be Johnsson/Kapanen
Dubas trolling everyone with the double 69 cap hit
interestingly, its all that mattered in the end.Doesn't matter.
Apologize to Dubas. You know who you are.
Yes but is that ever a easy tradeable contact after July 1. As his real salary is fantastic after that will a cap hit under his Ava.
