Willy is one of only a few players who is playing with a consistent effort.
Only after he embarrasses himself and his team like that.

All money, no heart.

Actually I still like Nylander, but he is who he is.

Soft and disinterested 60% of the time.

Then that 40% of the time against weak competition, he looks good!

Nylander has to beat up the bottom feeders. After next game we play 4 tough games.. so he will be a ghost. He still played like complete and utter garbage tonight. A gift goal from Matthews that anyone could’ve scored doesn’t change that. I hope he keeps padding those stats, so Dubas can trade him to some other terrible GM.

He will not stop getting ripped on by fans, until he stops playing scared and bailing on plays. There were several more examples of this tonight. He needs to be held accountable.

Ill expect crickets in here during the wake of him playing well.
If he’s playing well there shouldn’t be a problem hence the crickets.
Do the little things you need to do every night in addition to only trying offense when it’s convenient and there won’t be a problem.
Same goes for the other 3.

From the half of the game I saw - that was an engaged Willy. He wanted to be around the puck. Even today he is no Zach Hyman, but for a skill guy if he gave this effort every game he would be a PPG guy easy.

Just so talented

Yes, if he could get a little hate into his game he'd be dramatically underpaid.

That would be amazing.

He plays a different game in the O zone but that’s his style and I wouldn’t chance that. The only thing I think he could do a bit more there is stand in the front of the net and go for some tips. He doesn’t seem to get many sticks on pucks there.

As for the D zone, I think that’s where we want to see the improvement. The ‘killer’ instinct needs to show there with more sticks in lanes, and taking hits to make plays, and just general disruptiveness.
