Post of the dayPeople are over reacting just like the crap officials and those who hand out suspensions in the OHL.
Walker's hit was not malicious, it was a good hard check that leveled a Gens player who thought it is 7-1 so I will ease up. There was no penalty going to be called on the hit until #42 punched Walker from behind in the back of the head (what ever happened to all the hysteria about head contact?).
Walker turned around and engaged in a bit of a wrestling scrum, helmet ripped off and one punch was thrown.
You want to know how ridiculous this league and ***** officials have become - figure out this sequence of events and how penalties were handed out:
- Walker throws check stands over downed player
- Gens player comes in late and throws punch to the head
- Walker grabs guy, they wrestle and walker rips off helmet while linesmen have jumped in
- Walker throws punch in scrum
- Once separated, 2 Gens players skate in to churp but are too chicken sh!t to engage, then Keyser decides to chime in. In today's game those are penalties referred to as inciting.
Look at the penalties:
No penalty on hit, Walker for instigating, twice for fighting and one for within the last 5 mins when there was no other combatant; the Gens player threw the 1st punch but that is not instigating nor fighting, let alone deliberate attempt at head contact - just a rough because he threw a punch, cowered and kept his gloves on. 3 individual players engaged Walker after the incident but yet the refs ignored the inciting.
The league, it's executives and it's officials are a damn joke.
Sounds like it. No surprise, the officiating in the Wolves game last night was laughable both ways. Would have liked to see the original hit from Walks but then again you said no penalty right?People are over reacting just like the crap officials and those who hand out suspensions in the OHL.

Ya that’s the other side of it isn’t it. Passion and pride versus reason and better judgement. We all deal with that don’t we though some more than others.Still, dumbass coaches should never have put him out there knowing he only wants to beef up his PIM'S. Now we play short for the next 2 games
Completely agree with your post here but I feel like frustration comes from Walker consistently puts himself in a situation like this and it ends with us at an disadvantage. You’re completely right about officiating it’s a horrendous joke and a complete embarrassment at times.People are over reacting just like the crap officials and those who hand out suspensions in the OHL.

What idiot puts a meathead (9G, 3A 125 PIM) out on the last minute if not to do something stupid, I was at the game in my opinion it was a hit from behind that made head contact, but you have your opinion.People are over reacting just like the crap officials and those who hand out suspensions in the OHL.

peters and schlueting doing good work on the ice for the Atom A IceBoltz after the game. Unfortunately its the most ice time they've received all year long.
Yes he is , but 19 has a step up on him, he went 4/16 today.Get 18 out of the face-off circle. He's horrible.
Schlueting actually impressed me today with his entire 30 seconds of ice timepeters and schlueting doing good work on the ice for the Atom A IceBoltz after the game. Unfortunately its the most ice time they've received all year long.
